I heard about this site the other day and thought some of you may be interested. It's called Mod Podge Rocks, and they have something new up every day.

Sofie
I made a Free Spirit amigurumi doll, and named her Sofie: New Look & Other News
Hi everyone. Halloween2. After you've picked your theme, you create an arts/crafts project based on that theme. As before with the challenges, any and all arts and crafts are welcome. Drawing, Painting, Scupture, Collage, Sewing, Crochet, Knitting, Jewelry making, other paper crafts, etc. etc. So long as you can take a picture or scan in your finished project, it counts. :-) 3. Take a picture (or pictures) of your finished entry. 4. Post a picture of your finished item in the asylum No Later than October 20, 2009. ** ** Note: When posting pics of your finished project, please include the words Contest Entry in the Subject of your post. Also, somewhere in your post, please be sure to tell us which theme you picked to make your entry on.** Other Info: This time around, the only judge will be me. Yep, I'll be judging and not taking part in the contest in any way other than that. For now, for this first time out trying out the idea, I think that's the fairest set up I can come up with. I will pick a winner, and a first runner up. Depend on how many people enter, I may award second and third runner up, as well. And yes, I will award prizes. Just something little, mind you. Times are tough for everyone, but I want to hand out some sort of prize. So, here's the prizes as I have them figured: First Place Prize: 6 months of paid account time for a journal here on IJ (any journal on IJ that the winner wants the paid time applied to - so long as they are the owner of the journal/asylum). (Or any other IJ items that can purchased with a combine value up to $15.) First Runner Up: 2 months of paid account time for a journal here on IJ (any journal on IJ that winner wants the paid time applied to - so long as they are the owner of the journal/asylum). (Or any other IJ item(s) that can be purchased with a combine value up to $10.) I'm really excited to see what we can all come up with! While I won't be entering the contest myself, I may make a few things and how them to you all, just for fun. If you have any questions, concerns, or feedback please don't hesitate to contact me! Hi all! Happy summer! Hopefully everyone's doing well. I know summer is the busy season for a lot of folks. For me, too. It can be hard to get much crafting done in warmth weather (either you're too busy, or it's too warm to be buried in the craft supply of your choice?). Tribute What do I mean by that? As usual, you can interpret it anyway your creativity takes you. But, what I was thinking was to make a craft project that is a tribute to something or someone. It can be a serious tribute to a friend, family member, mentor, etc. It can be a tribute to a favorite author, artist, musician. Or, it can be a funny / light hearted tribute to your favorite t shirt, your best CD, your favorite coffee mug, the song you danced to at a party, your first car, your favorite resteruant, your missing sock, the laundry your forgot to do... anything! Have fun with it, and run with it! I can't wait to see what people come up with! Also, a reminder: Remember, you can post pics of challenge entries any time! Say, you just finished the May challenge item, and it's now August. That's cool! Post the pics whenever you can the project done. First Annual Crafts Gone Wrong Week
That's right -- I've decided the last week of June is officially the first annual "Crafts Gone Wrong Week". June Challenge
Happy June, everyone. Sorry I'm a few days late posting the challenge, but I was away from the computer all last week. Green, Blue, Yellow What does that mean? Those are the first 3 colors that come into my mind when I hear the word summer: Green, Blue, and Yellow. And seeings as summer officially starts later this month, I thought it'd be fun to do a color themed challenge. Make what every you want, however you want, just include those 3 colors in there somewhere!! Samantha's Crochet Dress
Made a new dress for my American Girl doll :D A question just for fun.
What craft project have you had hanging around for the longest? We all have one, don't we? A sweater we're knitting and the colors are now out of style. Or a collage that you never quite got around to finishing. Feedback Poll -- Please Let Me Know What You Think!
Poll #3762 Member Feedback Poll Thanks for taking the time to do the poll! If you have any other questions/comments, please feel free to comment on this entry, or contact me (feline_scribe [at] insanejournal [dot] com).

View Answers Yes, always Yes, most months I have a couple times It's not really my kind of thing What kind of themes would you like to see for future months' challenges? Would you be interesting in a secret-santa style craft exchange? What kind of things would you like to see added about to the community/asylum? Any changes you'd like to see made? What craft project are you working on now? Baby Blanket
My cousin is due at the beginning of next month with her second baby, and I made her a blanket. ( One pic )
Possible May Challenge Craft
I'm not so sure this counts towards the May Challenge, but I thought I'd post about it anyway. ( Just two pics )
May Challenge
Good Tuesday Morning Everyone! Without further ado, here's May's Challenge: Trashion / Thrift Crafting What's that mean? It's taking other things, and remaking them, basically. A time to raid your attics, garages, local thrift stores, fleamarkets, your granny's attic, and anything else you can think of for supplies. And then remake it into something new! And, if you can't make everything from re-crafted/re-used items that's ok. Just re-use/re-craft some element into your piece. (For example, maybe you find a great costume jewelry broach, but you're not a jewelry maker. Yet you want to remake it. So make you crochet a choker, and but the old broach on it as a pendant/decoration. That sort of thing.) Some great blogs to check out for inspiration and ideas: Thifting in Oblivion : http://thriftinginoblivion.blogspot.com/ The Etsy Trashion Street Team Blog: http://etsytrashion.blogspot.com/ Re-craft Blog: http://re-craft.blogspot.com/ DIY City Mag: http://diycitymag.com/diydaily/ Can't wait to see what you come up with! ;-) April Challenge
A friend of mine recently told me that she's using socks as pot holders, so I planned on sending her some pot holders I made. As something extra, I decided to add some dish cloths as well. Another food post
Sort of for the April challenge but not really since I've been wanting to try it anyway. April Challenge
First of all, my apologies... I'm a few days late posting April's Challenge. (Not too bad though.. I should have posted it on Monday, and today's Thursday. With the way things have been going for me lately, to be only 3 day behind is pretty good! :-P) So, without futher ado, April's Challenge is:Random Act(s) of Kindness What does that mean? Do something crafty, as a random act / acts of kindness. Make something, for someone, just because. Or, make something, and then find someone to give it to. Use your crafty skills to brighten the day of someone who could use a little sunshine in an other wise crappy week. As always, thanks to everyone who takes part in the challenges, and everyone who's a part of this asylum. March's Challenge
I'm finally posting my pictures for March's challenge. I made a ton of pot holders as they are something that I need, not to mention they go back to January's challenge because I used up a lot of scrap yarn. I also made dish cloths, but I've not taken pictures yet. Mostly because many of them haven't had the ends weaved in just yet. Oops! ( lots of pictures ) Hey guys. New to the community, just wanted to say hi. I'm Kate from Orlando ^_^ I like knitting, sewing, needle point and dabble in all sorts of other stuff. I'm also big into make-up and face painting/body art. Hopefully I'll have some projects to show off in the near future. And I'm looking for more friends so feel free to add me if you feel so inclined. <3 Kate More applicable to January's challenge really, since I was trying to get rid of the last of this stash. Although the eyes are recycled from another ami that died a noble death and I technically didn't spend a single cent, so that covers March XD ? Fastest Challenge Evar
