Arrogant Worms - I Ran Away |

Good afternoon! My name is Otako, and today I'm going to cleverly introduce myself by answering the previous post. (Marvel at my genius.)
I am not as yet making something, but I'm in the process of getting ready to. When I get home from my vacation, I would like to start taking sewing classes. My first cosplay project after becoming competent at it would be to work on a Fallen Angel Flonne costume. Here is a handy reference picture. As it is, I need to work on absolutely everything-- I'm beginning by looking around for various pieces of the costume. (For example, I am on the lookout for the perfect red swimsuit and heels that will co-ordinate together, since there really is no need to sew what I don't have to, right?)
I'm always a fan of outfits that go slightly beyond the minimal costume requirements-- interesting fabrics, embellishments, and things like that. In this case, I would like to enhance any seams I can with a little shine, and definitely keep details like the texture/look of each color the same. So, if I get a very shiny red swimsuit, I'd like to make the shoes and red ribbons shiny, too. The tail will likely be the hardest part, as will finding a suitable long, blonde wig, but I'm ready to deal with it.
One aspect that came up when I decided to do this was the issue of chest size. Looking at the figure and pictures of Fallen Angel Flonne, we can tell she has a chest, but it's probably not a large as mine. Normally, I try to stay away from flat-chested characters (hence why I'm not going near Etna), but I believe that the style of Flonne's costume works for my chest. Because she is wearing a large, covering piece of white that is essentially cut like an empire waist, I believe that my chest will be adequately camouflaged enough to pass as hers.
Now, the last thing is probably the most essential: I'm going to have to get into character, too. This means I'll need to play Disgaea again (or have someone else do it and have them show me the cutscenes). I can't help it-- if I'm going to cosplay a character, I want to get into character, too. Is that strange?
Anyway, I think that's just about it from me for now! Good luck, fellow cosplayers!
