Question time, Hogwarts. Let's say there's this bloke a person who seems like maybe they might be interested in you. And when you stop to think about it, you might be interested as well. You have things in common, you have a good time around them, and you're feeling like there's some chemistry there.

But there's one catch. They've been quite interested in someone else. That someone else doesn't seem to feel the same way, so it doesn't seem likely to happen, but you don't like being second best. You don't want to feel like you're the rebound for someone they were never even with.

What would you do? Take things as they come and try not to get too attached? Encourage any feelings the person might have for you? Or maybe just cut things off before you get hurt?
