I had to make you wait for the reply. After all, we both know that sometimes anticipation is half the fun. In regards to messages to my daughters, just remind them to enjoy themselves. After all, some of the best years of my life were at Hogwarts. I hope that one day they can look back upon them fondly as well.
I do hope that Alphard is not an influential person in young Sirius' life. While he is my brother and I do love him as I should, I do not always agree with his lifestyle. Sometimes I wonder if the Black genes simply skipped over him. And about roads untravelled? I must agree. There are a lot of those and I sometimes wish that just for a bit I could go back and explore them.
I must admit that the pleasure of having daughters is immense. I know that Druella is pleased to have little girls to pass her knowledge onto. I do wish, however, that we had been blessed with a son. Sadly, that wasn't what happened, so I do the best I can. I often feel as if I neglected my duty to the family, but I know that you did enough to carry on the noble name of Black. The thing that matters is that Druella is happy and what more can one ask for than knowing they pleased their partner?
Dinner was indeed nice enough. It would have been nicer to stay home, but one can never spurn the people that they do business with.
