Emmeline was doing her patrols but it had been a quiet night. As she did on most nights like this, where there was really no one about, she let her mind wander onto more academic pursuits, going over a homework problem or chewing over a bit of what something she'd read earlier in the day. Tonight she was thinking about self-reflection. Despite the fact that the conversation had been days ago, Emmeline still felt captivated by the subject altogether and found herself thinking on it quite a bit in her down time.
The quick fall of steps ahead of her caught her attention and she looked up just in time to collide with a chest. Emmeline blinked and smiled at the boy who'd run into her, recognising him only a moment later. "Good evening Mr. Potter," she said politely. He had a very charming smile, she noticed, not for the first time- she suspected it had a lot to do with how much he got away with at Hogwarts.
"It is after curfew, why are you not in the common room?" she asked with a small tilt of her head, with holding any judgement until she'd heard his reasoning.
