WHO: George Kirk and William Riker
WHAT: A random meeting between two time-displaced officers.
WHEN: late afternoon
WHERE: video store
RATING: TBD
STATUS: In Progress
George couldn't say for sure what made him step into the video store. Ever since arriving in Colligo and learning that everything he knew was apparently fictional in this reality as well as a fair majority of the others represented within the city, he'd done his best to avoid any place that might be able to prove that fact. Yet for some reason that he couldn't quite put his finger on, something compelled him to step inside the one place where proof positive was certain to reside.
The light chiming of the bell overhead signified his entrance into the shop. George glanced briefly upwards, eying the noisemaker, before stepping fully inside and looking around. The store was clean, he noticed, and the clerk seemed friendly enough if the smile she gave him was any indication. He noticed the name hanging on the plaque on the wall behind her - Store Manager: Claire Bennet - and mentally registered the faintest amount of shock that he'd happened to pick the very video store that the blond from the message boards ran.
It wasn't her who was working, though, and George couldn't say if he was grateful for the lack of a somewhat familiar face or if he would rather her be present than the unknown girl behind the counter.
Either way it didn't matter. A few seconds of looking around was all he was going to do after all.
Spotting the science fiction section courtesy of the signs over the aisles, he moved toward them without so much as a glance around. Fingers wrapped around a DVD the moment he was close enough, brow furrowing a bit as he realized that his son and the others were right. The man on the cover was reported as being one James T. Kirk... but was most certainly not his boy.
"Curiouser and curiouser." He was unable to keep from muttering the famous lines from a children's book from long ago as he turned the case over in his hand and glanced at the summary before putting it back and looking at the entire 'Star Trek' section as a whole in something akin to horrified wonder.
