A dumpster. A dumpster. He was living behind a dumpster. Wasn't that dirty? Just.. crawling with germs? Not, mind, that Yuuji was terribly choosy, considering some of the places he and Minato had lived the last several years, but even he had to say that a dumpster was a little much for him. Especially since he had a perfectly nice apartment in Colligo. Then again, he hadn't been around for the Gentlemen, whoever they were, so who knew? If he had been, he might've been in L's position, now, too.
As it was, he'd wrapped up a plate of leftovers for him, packed that with a small package of brownies and several bottles of water, and then in a separate package, wrapped up inside the first one, minor medical supplies and aspirin. All of it went in a bag that was slung over his shoulder, and then Yui in a sling against the other hip. Thankfully, the toddler was in a very good mood, and was only too happy to go where her mama took her, babbling happily and fingers curled in the plain dark tshirt Yuuji wore.
The blond recalled the directions carefully as he stepped into the alleyway, wanting to be certain he had the right one. In his experience, it was never a good idea to step off the street if one didn't have to, after all. But.. this was right, and after a moment, Yuuji could see the figure that was apparently L Lawliet.
He was a skinny little thing, wasn't he? Entirely without his permission, he could feel himself soften a bit toward the awkward young man, expression going gentle and openly friendly as he approached. --Skinny, and pale, and it looked like he didn't sleep enough. He clucked mentally at the thought; it wasn't good for people his age to abuse themselves like that.
"You must be L," he greeted kindly, and set his bag down with a grateful sigh, shifting the suddenly-curious dark-haired child on his hip to a more comfortable position. "I'm sure you've guessed it, given that we just spoke, but I'm Yuuji, and this--" he pressed a kiss to the top of the little girl's head "--is Yui." He crouched, then, pulling out the neat little box that had food in it, and set it carefully by the younger man. "All right," he decided, no-nonsense and practical, "shirt off. Let's see the damage."
