WHO: Kathy Concannon and Kate Danvers
WHAT: An upset Kathy gets lost, Kate finds her and fusses.
WHEN: Not too long after this
WHERE: Streets of Colligo
RATING: PG
STATUS: Closed, Incomplete

Vampire. Kathy had been planning on exploring the city on her own for quite some time now. She knew that would be best not to go on her own as to not worry all the people who seemed suddenly concered with her her welfare. But there were so many sights to see-and while the adults helped with the questions, she often felt like the very little ones she saw dragging their parents along at the pace that the adults went. It was strange, how many things this place had already changed in her. If she'd been at home .. at her time-a concept that still boggled her mind a bit-she would never, ever consider impatiently insisting that her father hurry along so that she could see all that could see. Not that there hadn't been quite a few impatient, fresh mouthed children in her time period; howevr, Kathy, herself, had always been obediant. Always.

Except right now, as she walked down the busy streets, not truly appreciating the sights as she had planned. All for one word. Vampire. Everything went out the door really because she was upset. Upset and scared and confused-far more confused than she had been when she'd appeared-betrayed. Oh, yes, there was the betrayed. Would he have ever told her? Had he really thought he could avoid her forver? Possibly. She loved her brother but sometimes ... Was he even her brother still? Kathy didn't want to think along those lines. Because she worshiped the ground that Liam Concannon walked in and she had been able to accept and been willing to deal with all of this because her brother was with her. If that wasn't her brother ... the sudden lonliness and ache for familiarity that had hit her when she'd first arrived was sharp and piercing, and wouldn't wash away even as she tried to push them aside. She felt very betrayed. Did Doyle know? Christopher? She felt insulted. As insulted as a fourteen year old would feel when adults thought they had to protect her from everything. Like she wouldn't have been able to figure it out. Kathy frowned to herself, she probably could have figured it out. She'd known something hadn't added up but it hadn't mattered. None of it had mattered because of the fact that she'd finally found her brother.

She had thought he'd kept his promise to her.

Vampire, he was this monster. This horrible creature, and she should hate him. Should be scared of him. And she was scared, very scared. But he sounded like her Liam and he made her smile the way only her brother could. And she didn't know, she really and truly didn't know what do do with this. She supposed she should go back.

The thing was, Kathy dashed away tears with the sleeve of her shirt, she didn't know where she was. Or how to get back.

"I told you, I can't cover that shift. I have a....family thing." she said, talking into her PDA as she ducked out of a store she had just purchased a new outfit for work at. "Yes, family thing. Some of us have things to take care of. I'll be in tomorrow like I'm supposed to." she said in an annoyed fashion. Her boss wasn't going to fire her, she was the best bartender there, and the only one with a lick of personality. He might have wanted her to cover one of the Pod People's shifts, but it wasn't going to happen. Kate had to run tonight. She could already feel the itch growing behind her legs. It was faint, it wouldn't really start to annoy her until late tonight, but she couldn't put it off.

With a roll of her eyes and an annoyed sigh, she disconnected the call, and shoved the PDA into her purse. She was about to cross the street, ducking behind a car when she stopped, doing a double take behind her.

There was a little girl, tears very obvious in her eyes. Kate looked around, expecting to see her mother or someone she knew come forward at any second. She watched, and watched, but no one came. Her eye brows knitted together, confused. Who would let a child walk around on their own? Maybe she had arrived in the city alone, but someone would have been kind enough to watch her. She had to be lost, that was the only real reasonable thing she could think of.

"Hey." she said, trying to get her attention. The tall blonde took a few steps forward, stopping juts a couple of feet away before she knelt down, bringing herself down to the girls level. "Hey there, sweetie, are you alright?" Kate didn't smell blood, but she smelt fear, and so the logical assumption was that the girl was lost.

The first thought that went through her mind was that she wasn't supposed to talk to people she didn't know. The second, that quickly followed, as her chin jutted slightly and went up a notch, was that she didn't care. Who was going to chastise her? Her parents weren't around and Liam was ... she didn't know. Not to mention the fact that she didn't think she wanted to talk to Christopher or Doyle if they'd known and hadn't told her.

Attempting to keep the slight tears from her voice, Kathy answered, "Just fine miss, only a tad lost." She ducked her head slightly and attempted to discreetly wipe at her cheeks. Her eyes were red and there was nothin that could be done about it. But she could figure out where she was. Though Kathy wasn't sure if she wanted to go back to the apartments. "If ya could tell me where I am ... please. Or how ta return ta tha 'partments. I'd be grateful, miss."
