Who: Merlin, Alyss Heart
What: Lost and Confused
Where: Outside the Library
When: Late morning
Merlin awoke with his arms folded atop a large stack of books, blue eyes glancing around groggily at his surroundings for a long moment. He didn't remember falling asleep in the castle library. He didn't remember going to the library at all, in fact, and this didn't even look like the stacks...No matter, he was still tired, it would come to him later. For the moment he ran a hand through messy black locks and sat up, flipping absently through the pages of one book to try and recall what he'd been looking for. Only there was nothing. Not a single word or picture on any of the pages, in any of the books, and panic struck him for an instant. That wasn't his doing, was it? Had he magically wiped the books empty on accident? Oh god, he didn't know how to fix that. There was no way he could possibly explain, or lie his way out of this one.
Merlin rose to hurry out, in hopes that he could escape, and just feign ignorance to all of it. He only managed of few steps though before a pair of knights gripped his arms, lifting him a few inches off the ground, and striding towards the doors. "Wait! Wait, I didn't do it!" The teen struggled to pull away, to identify the knights, but with no success. "Where is Arthur? He'll tell you! It wasn't me!" Surely Arthur would help him, but there was no answer. Instead they merely opened the doors to bring him outside, and his heart dropped instantly. Outside? Not to the dungeons, to the King, but outside -- was he meant for the gallows without any chance to explain or --
They dropped him. A small black object thrust into his hands, and then they were gone. Merlin sat, dumbfounded, for a minute, looking at the item they'd given him. It's smooth surfaces, the letters written out neatly, and all manner of buttons. What was he supposed to do with this? He shrugged, putting the PDA in his pocket, and started down the steps, suddenly mesmerized by the strange buildings.
This was not Camelot.
A surprised yelp escaped his lips as he jumped backwards, narrowly missing being stuck by a car. A great metal object as strange and almost frightening to him as everything else here. He backed quickly up the stairs to the security of the library, and knights that he recognized as similar to his own time, but the door was locked. He was trapped in this place. Lost.
"Hello?" He called, making his way slowly to a parked car, and peering cautiously into the window. It didn't move, or roar, or anything. In fact, he could see seats inside. A carriage of some sort, but where were the horses? How did they move on their own? All the noise was deafening as well, so different from his home. The mechanical roar and groans of everything around him. Had he landed in some place full of magic?
He had no idea. All he knew is that this was strange, and he needed to get back to Camelot. Lord knows what danger Arthur would manage to get himself in without Merlin there. How was he supposed to protect him -- unless, maybe he was here too? With that in mind, Merlin attempted to set off down the street, being nearly run over several times in the process.
