Gwen pulled on her other boot over her jeans, glad that she had managed to buy all the things she would need for the cold weather when she went out with Morgana. Standing from the bed, she pulled her warm coat over the jumper she had bought a while back. She quite liked the clothing in this time, it was a lot easier to stay warm with the things you could buy here. Tucking the long red scarf she had bought behind the material of her coat, she finished zipping it up and put together all the buttons.

"Arthur, I hope you wrap up enough. You're not the best when you catch a cold, remember?"

Reaching out to the bed, she grasped the woolen hat and gloves. She'd put them on before they left.

Arthur glared at the hole in his boot and stuffed in another layer of socks to stop the hole before yanking it on. He grabbed the jacket Merlin had laid out on the bed and held it up in front of him. It was a dark blue with gold fastening and heavy, but Arthur had no doubt it would keep him warm. He pulled it on over his jumper and did up the buttons. He stuffed his hands into the pockets and pulled out a pair of rough, leather gloves.

Some days, he wondered if having Merlin around wasn't a little bit like having a mother.

Disturbed by that line of thinking, Arthur left his room and let Guinevere go through to get ready.

"I'm fine."

Gwen smiled as she heard him respond, walking through to see him. Keeping her gloves and hat in her hands, she grinned at him before pulling the hat on over her curls and pulling it down so it kept her warm. She quite liked all the things she had bought, had found them rather handy. Pulling one glove and then the other on, she finally looked back at Arthur.

"Ready then?"

Gwen laughed when he pulled her hat down a little, playfully batting at his hand. When she had sorted her hat, she let her woolen clad hand slide against his leather clad one, pushing her fingers in between the gaps of his.

"You'll love this, I promise."

Checking that she had her PDA and anything else she may need in her pocket with her other hand, she smiled up at him before starting to walk out.

"So everyone keeps telling me." He wiggled his fingers, spreading them wide to aid her before clamping down gently. Arthur brought their linked hands to her cheek, shaking his head. "Though no one's given me a reason why."

He dropped their hands and followed her from their room into the hall. They fell in step and moved toward the door in silence, only breaking when Arthur sighed and pushed open the door to an icy blast of cold and snow.

"Well you'll just have to find out the reason."

She closed her eyes when they made it to the door, allowing herself a moment to get use to it before tugging at his hand. The snow wasn't as heavy but it was still falling and resting on her curls and hat. She didn't mind though. The snow wasn't so deep it was hard to walk in but it crunched beneath their feet and she grinned at the sound.

"How can you not find this beautiful?"

The cold froze the inside of his nose and bit at his exposed cheeks, but nothing, in that moment, could get him to turn away from Guinevere. Snow hung from her hair and settled on her eyelashes, falling on her shoulders and collecting on the lip of her hat.

Her smile was wide and delighted, earnest, and Arthur shook his head without answer. He didn't have one.

Releasing her hand in favor of her waist, he pulled her in front of him, hugging her from behind.

"You'll have to try harder to convince me."

	She giggled as his arms found their way around her and pulled her back close to his chest. Tilting her head back so she was looking at him, her head resting against him, she smilied up at him and tried to ignore the snow landing on her face. 	Gwen pretended to huff in annoyance before pulling away a little. Walking away from him, she made sure to keep looking around just in casethere was anything dangerous, before eventually standing were, underneath all this snow, the park was. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

Arthur trailed behind her, hands tucked away in his pockets. Every once in a great while, a gust of wind would draw him up short as snowflakes blew into his eyes, burning with cold. Guinevere's scarf flapped with each step she took and even from this distance he could see it wasn't the cold or snow that was making her tread carefully, but steadily, toward the park.

The wind sheltered the noise of his approaching footsteps. He grabbed her by the waist and spun her around, clutching her close. And even through the layers of clothes he noticed it, she didn't fit as well against him and his breath caught, hanging on the air.

	She grinned when he replied, glad that at least it wasn't a no. When he looked down at her and raised his eyebrow she kept a perfectly innocent look on her face. 	"Clearly." If she had been, she would be well within her right to do so. He had been nothing but irritable and she'd done nothing except try and get him to unclench enough to have a little bit of fun.
