WHO; James T. Kirk & Leonard McCoy
WHERE; outside the grand library
WHEN; evening, after Bones' arrival
RATING; TBA
James T. Kirk was going to have some serious words with whoever ran this place whenever they found out who was in charge of this prison in the guise of a city. He'd been thrown curve ball after curve ball here lately and there was only so much more of this he could take, but at least Bones being here (again) had a bit of an upside to it, much like Gaila being here. In Colligo, Gaila could at least live longer than the short period of time she would've had she gotten on the Farragut instead of coming here. Kirk had yet to speak to her since her arrival or seek her out like he knew he should, but that could be put on the back burner for now. He promised Amanda he'd be nice and civil with Bones and give him a second chance. This place did some strange things to people; he'd experienced some of them firsthand. Maybe history wouldn't repeat itself. And right now, the prospect of having his best friend back was welcomed.
He probably looked nothing like the captain he was supposed to be when he came upon the uniform-clad doctor sitting on the steps, looking as if he'd just stepped off the Enterprise. God, he missed the hell out of that ship. It seemed like forever. He was a few months shy of twenty-six, hair a bit unruly, the stubble a sign he needed a shave, and wearing jeans, a t-shirt, and a brown leather jacket instead of the Starfleet uniform he hadn't put on in months. The thing was just collecting dust in a corner of the closet in his apartment now. Perhaps the only thing that marked him as not from the century this city was supposed to be set was the phaser and tricorder (the one from the 24th Century that Seven of Nine had left behind), shoved in his back pockets.
"Trying to collect dust?"
