WHO; Nissa Ravena & George Lass
WHERE; Colligo Mall ; food court
WHEN; mid-afternoon of the 16th
RATING; TBA
The drink sitting in front of her, something from the Starbucks she sat at a table in front of, was more for show than something she was actively drinking. She didn't have the taste buds for such things anymore and hadn't since the last war fought on American soil, but Nissa had learned that having a soda or coffee or some sort of popular beverage sitting near her helped create the illusion of humanity that she so dearly wished she could paint. But, she knew that such was impossible and would settle, for now, with pretending.
It was all she could do now, after all: pretend. Unlike her brothers, she wasn't very fond of what she was, but she saw no point in complaining about something she couldn't change.
"Excuse me," an older woman pushing a stroller -- a grandchild, perhaps? -- said to Nissa, a cough lacing her voice. Taking the hint, Nissa scooted her chair in more to allow the woman a path to pass between her and the other table with the stroller, smiling briefly at the child.
Shaking her head at other thoughts that surfaced, she returned her attentions to the art magazine she'd been looking through. How odd that there were articles in here about the Smithsonian and no way to reach it.
