EVENT: NO TIME LIKE THE PAST.

The twenty-sixth of January is appears to be a morning like any other morning in Colligo-- the sun is rising in the sky, filling the windows of the captured peoples' rooms with bright, warm light as the residents stir and pull out of their slumbers. As they awaken, however, they come to realize that this morning is, in fact, not like any other morning at all. The room they are in is not that of a 21st Century apartment, but a house straight out of the 18th Century. The little homes are spread out across the city of Colligo and the only sign of the grand, modern city that once stood in it's place is the infamous library, where new arrivals are sure to arrive.

The mall is gone, replaced by a bustling farmers' market with fields of crops and livestock where the park once was. Shops can be found around the library, ranging from shoemakers to seamstresses, carpenters to blacksmiths and other such businesses of the era. A clinic is all but nonexistent and any medical assistance you need will have to be acquired via a house call. Clothing, appropriate for the times, can be found in trunks at the foot of the residents' beds and they will find the garments fit surprisingly well. Any new clothing will have to be acquired from one of the shops-- and money, they'll find, is now converted into coin form and found in purses at the bottom of the trunks instead of stored within the banks. Careful with that now, someone may want to come and grab it.

Amazingly, the tablets are still working. Use them wisely, for they are your only "link" to the modern world. How long will this venture into the past last? A few days? Weeks? Months? Who knows. Only time will tell.

WEATHER UPDATE.

Those paying attention to the weather will notice that the snowfall hasn't stopped and seems to be increasing. Expect heavy snowfall today, with light snow fall returning for the weekend. Residents will also find that the ponds around the city have frozen over and the ice is now thick enough to be used for skating.

We have a new idea we'd like to try out with you lovely folks. Essentially, it's a way for players to work together to bring mini-plots to the game to keep interest and activity up. Since everyone here works so fabulously together, we're hoping this idea will work.

WALKING IN A WINTER WONDERLAND (NOVEMBER PLOT).

Attention citizens of Colligo! The Collector has decided to take the fact that Earth is a seasonal planet into consideration for this time of year. Characters waking up this morning (November 12th) will note light snowfall coming down for the heavens. The snowfall will remain constant and light throughout the week. Will it stop or become heavier? You'll have to wait and see! We'd advise, however, being mindful of the low temperature and the snow that will surely start sticking to the ground.

If players have any suggestions for Winter-themed events of any kind, please comment with them here! We have a few in mind, but we'd love to do more things you guys want to see happen here in Colligo. :)

EVENT: COLLIGOWEEN, PT 1.

It was a ridiculous holiday, one The Collector didn't see much point in. The notion of grown individuals dressing in costumes like children and indulging in sweets that could damage teeth and weights seemed stupid and pointless at best, but it was something the people in his city were anxious for and couldn't stop talking about. Well, he'd have to do something about this, wouldn't he? He'd indulge them, but in his own way. Let them have their candy and cakes and costumes, but should they choose the latter, there were going to be consequences in the form of a twist none of them would see coming...save those who were already familiar with the one The Collector had brought forth to carry out his bidding and watching them scramble about trying to save the day would be part of the fun.

"Are you ready?"

To his right, a figure of a man who could easily be dismissed as any ordinary human being stepped forward, the corners of his lips curling up into a wicked smile. "Of course."

"Excellent."

!! POLL: UPCOMING HALLOWEEN EVENT.

Hello wonderful members, Tamara/Rumi!mod here in Kirk's journal once again using his paid account to the advantage of the modly agenda to post a poll. This one involves your preferred preference for the duration of an in-the-works Halloween Event. For this plot, we've decided that the folks in the city are all going to be invited to a large, lavish costume party!

However, as this is Colligo, things aren't going to quite go according to plan. In fact, mid-way through the party, everyone present is going to become their costume. Whatever they are wearing, they will turn into that, for... well, however long the poll below decides. That's right. EVENT #05 - BEGIN

How irritating, The Collector thought to himself as he lounged back in his chair, the monitors that showed him what was happening in his city flashing from building to building and person to person, from this angle and that, showing him nothing of great interest.

This was never his intention, to let his collection get so comfortable within his city and yet, some of them were. They were mingling and making friends, developing romantic relationships and other such bonds that were making their interim here in his city more of an interstellar vacation and not the experiment he'd been conducting. It was an interesting set of details to add to the many notes he'd taken on their interactions thus far, but he did not desire for them to be happy. If he wanted that, he would have left them where they were and observed them in their natural habitats. No, he wanted to collect them, to hoard them and keep them in his city, acting the way he wanted them to act.

And this was not the way he wanted things. Not at all.

"Time to do something about that, wouldn't you say..." He turned to face a figure standing at his right. "...Barbas?"

"Like I said, I'll create your chaos for you... Just so long as I get to do what I wish with the Charmed Ones," Barbas drawled, fingers steepling as his gaze flashed out over the monitor. Piper, Paige, and Prue, all three caged in and in the perfect position for the ultimate revenge.

"Do not let them occupy your attentions. I expect you to make all of them suffer."

"Oh, I will. They will. They won't even know what hit them."




Okay! We're going to try to keep this as short and sweet as possible, but as this is going to be covering the ins and outs of the next baddie to come to Colligo, everyone please read it all the way through, okay?

A fire has been started in Housing Building B by an NPC doing the Collector's bidding. The building is going to burn to the ground and all characters within that building will be relocated to Housing Building D, located across the city.

Attention players!!

At midnight EST, it will be the 10th of August and the current event taking place in-game will be over. As we realize that not everyone is online at the same time, we are going to allow everyone to somewhat space out their characters' return to normal over a 24 hour period. This means by midnight (EST) on the 11th of August all characters should be returned to normal. There is only one exception to this and it is as follows.

If you want to keep a character of yours AU/older/younger, please reply to this post with the appropriate information. However, please note that there are a few stipulations.

• If you have five characters or less, you can only keep one their AU/future/past self.
• If you have five characters or more, you can only keep two their AU/future/past self.
• If, at any point, we feel that you are losing sight of the character and turning them grossly OOC, we retain the right to request you change the character back to normal or, in extreme cases, drop the character entirely.

Obviously, the third stipulation is only for situations where it is painfully obvious that the character is OOC without a significant change in canon to explain such a major personality change. We don't want rampant OOCness and borderline OCs and/or Sue's and Stu's overrunning the game so this is simply a precaution. Thus far everyone has been amazing at playing their chosen AU!characters!!

And really, that's it. As of midnight, feel free to begin turning characters back to normal and all characters should be back to normal within twenty-four hours of that mark.

EVENT #04 - UPDATE!

The results of the voting are in and have been tallied! Junior officially locked all of the [info]colligo_network posts that took place before the current in-game Event kicked off. This means that none of the characters - whether they were affected by this plot or not - are able to read any posts dated before July 11, 2009. If they try, it will just show that 'no posts are available' much like if you scroll back too far in a community/forum somewhere online.

Feel free to have your characters notice this and comment, or don't. The choice is obviously up to you!

EVENT #04 - YOUR VOTE NEEDED!!!

Quick question for everyone!

We realized, a bit belatedly, that there is a way for characters to 'see' what their non-AU/past/future selves were doing in Colligo before the Event kicked off. Essentially, all they'd have to do is check the old message board posts that date back to before the Event began. However, as some people may not want their characters to know that they really were here before, or see their 'true' selves, or what-have-you, we've come up with a solution: Junior, when he snapped his fingers and changed the people he opted to change, he also put up a 'block' on the old message board posts. So as far as the characters are concerned, they can't see any posts from before this weekend (when the Event began).

EVENT #04 - BEGIN!!!

Junior was bored and boredom, when it came to a being such as he, was never a good thing. Especially when said being happened to find great thrills in creating as much chaos as possible without incurring the wrath of the Continuum and/or finding himself smack dab back in that stupid petri dish. And in a place like Colligo there were plenty of thrills to be had, if one was creative enough.

The problem was, there were almost too many creative things he could do. While Amanda may have talked him out of dropping a carnivorous beast or two in the city streets, that didn't mean he didn't have other ideas. An invasion of the Borg, for instance, could be fun to see. As could Species 8472. Or possibly one of the other multitude of threats, most of which the likes none of the bipeds in the city had ever seen.

Still, he could practically hear the speech his father would give him if he took the Borg route. The same would likely go for a fair majority of the other ideas, as well. Junior supposed he could understand in a way, too, even if he didn't want to admit as much. After all it wasn't very fair to put everyone directly in harm's way just for his own amusement. And while he wasn't quite as focused on fair as the rest of the Continuum, he did hate that petri dish.

That didn't mean he couldn't do something to the people being collected within the city however. As long as he avoided doing something that would most assuredly cause their immediate harm, he wasn't breaking any of the 'rules' (which were honestly more like guidelines if he was being honest) that he was expected to follow. Which meant he could sit back and enjoy the fun without the consequences that always seemed to follow.

With a grin, Junior immediately realized just what he could do, too. Something that even his father would appreciate, he was certain. Something that wouldn't cause direct harm yet would certainly prove amusing. It would also stop a fair majority of them all from complaining for a decent bit of time, too. Yes, he had a perfect idea, he decided from his perch on the rooftop of the Grand Library.

He peered out at the city with his arms crossed in front of his chest and a smirk upon his face. "Let's have some fun, my little bipeds. Shall we?" he mused as he unfolded his arms. A snap of his fingers later, and his plan was in motion. A few changes to timelines here, a couple of age alterations there, and now the fun could really begin.

Here we go! The new Event has begun!!

All characters who are undergoing changes (AU, past, future) are now officially 'changed'. If they were asleep, they're going to wake up different. If they were awake, they're suddenly changed. However you want to do it. Just remember: They won't return to the library but this will seem like the first time they've been in Colligo.

For those who aren't changing: enjoy the crazy and feel free to be the welcome wagon. Or not. The choice is yours. The whole point of this plot is to HAVE FUN!!!

And again, if you wish to use a different journal for this plot, please inform us ASAP so we can get it added to the comms.

Event #04 - UPDATE!

Alright folks. Almost everyone has replied to the Event #3 (AU plot) post for their characters. However, in case you haven't, please do so here immediately. We really need that 'Master List' for our records, especially those of you who want to use a different journal for the plot as we still need to get those added.

Speaking of which. If you are intending on using a different journal, we are going to begin sending invites to the comms out. You can check for the invites here. IF YOU HAVE NOT RECEIVED AN INVITE BY FRIDAY, JULY 10, 2009 @ MIDNIGHT EST, PLEASE LET US KNOW! We're intending to kick the plot off sometime this weekend, quite possibly even Friday night (if all the invites are sent) or Saturday morning. You also must make sure you friend the mod journal with these 'temporary' journals as some things may come through that are f-locked and we'd prefer all players' character journals be able to 'see' them.

And it should really go without saying that no one is to post with the journals meant for this plot until the Event has officially begun.

Remember: This Event is mandatory to participate in. However, it is not mandatory for your characters to undergo a change. They can always remain the same, and simply respond to the crazy taking place around them.

EVENT #04 - PAST, PRESENT, FUTURE AND COULD-HAVE-BEEN.

It's just about time for another gamewide plot. However, unlike the last one that involved a Big Bad and something being done to the city itself, this time we're going to do something that directly affects the characters. Essentially, we're going to be turning those who are volunteered into a different version of themselves!

What does this mean, you might ask? Well, allow us to explain.

ACTIVITY CHECK #01.

As those of you who are familiar with the rules know, [info]colligo does activity checks. The first month we were open was a freebie for activity, being that the game was still getting on it's feet and working on getting activity levels up. Now, however, our activity is brilliant (you guys rock!) and it's time to go fourth with our first activity check. As the rules state:
► Activity Checks will be done on a monthly basis in this game. This will be judged based on activity within the [info]colligo_threads community, in which a character must have participated in a log at least once a month with the thread having a minimum of five comments posted to it. If a character fails the activity check, they will be given their first and only activity warning and are expected to get active within the next month. If they fail twice in a row, the character will be removed from the game.
With this many characters, however, it is less time consuming for you, the players, to provide us with links to your character(s)'s activity; not to mention more reliable, as we're less likely to skip over your character when checking the tags. So, please reply with the following form and provide activity links for ALL YOUR CHARACTERS.

EVENT #03 - DRAWING TO A CLOSE.

Due to unforeseen IRL issues which are providing the mods with time constraints which prevent us from being online as frequently as we would otherwise be, we have decided to wrap up the Gentlemen plot.

After reevaluating the victims list we had compiled and comparing it to our original completion time estimate, we realized that if we kept at the plot at the pace it's been going thus far, that it would run well into the beginning of July--something we would rather avoid. So, after much discussion, we've decided to wrap things up and let the captives of Colligo get their voices back.

How is this going to work? Below, you'll find the remaining list of victims who have not yet scened with the Gentlemen.

EVENT #03 - BEGIN

Although not a typical city by any means, conventional or otherwise, there was a certain vibe to Colligo that most locals were oblivious to and most new arrivals tended to become attuned with easily enough. Granted there was no rhyme or reason to the comings and goings during the bright light of day, as townsfolk moved about and conducted their business and strangers were thrust together with far more questions than answers. Yet there was a low hum that came from the heart of a city, even one as bizarre as this; a quiet murmur that offered proof positive that life did exist.

The arrival of the vehicles and mass transit only made it all the more palapable. Whereas before nightfall offered a hint of silence and a chance for those weary from their day's adventure some quiet to rest, the streets now remained ever-busy. Random honks from passing motorists, screeching of tires at intersections, barks and meows from animals too slow to get away from the rolling of hot tires - each and every bit of background noise was a quiet symphony and testimony to the steadily growing and flourishing city.

All of that abruptly changed, however, one starless night.

It seemed as though a cloak had been draped over the top of Colligo. Or perhaps a switch had been flipped. Whatever the case, shortly after the stroke of midnight - as told by the chiming of the clock on a church tower near the Grand Library - all sound simply ceased to exist.

No one was aware of the change. They wouldn't be aware until morning. Whatever bewitchery had fallen the denizens ensured they were either asleep or in other ways too preoccupied to notice. It was best that way, really, as those responsible had many things to do before the sun began to climb across the eastern sky. Yet even if someone had been aware, there was nothing to be done about it. For as the fog began to slowly fill the streets and thicken the air, they came. As silent as death itself, they arrived on feet that merely glided across the surface of the streets and with strange creatures garbed in straitjackets prepared to do their bidding.

They smiled with lipless mouths and hauntingly dark eyes. Pale skin stretched across their too-thin frames and long, tapered fingers tingled with anticipation. They were here. It was time.

The Gentlemen had arrived.

EVENT #02 - BEGIN.

"...more like large packed into tiny cages than humanoids in a suitable habitat," The Collector mused to himself as he surveyed his collection.

The dorm-like apartments he'd provided them with were beginning to fill as he found more and more suitable specimens and he found that even though they were given a bed, washroom, clothing, and entertainment, they didn't seem to like their dwellings. Perhaps he'd underestimated what they would need.

He also seemed to notice how the residents, aside from those who attempted escape, tended to stick close to the apartments. At first he blamed it on them, assuming they lacked a proper sense of adventure, but then he began to realize that didn't venture out as far due to a lack of means of doing so! In his rush to complete the habitat he'd set up for his prized collection, he'd neglected to give them transportation.

"A bit of everything," he said to himself, "and perhaps a little something of their own."

Luckily for the residents of Colligo, these were problems he could easily remedy.

PLOTTING #01 - BADDIE OF THE WEEK.

Before we do that, however, we wanted to cover a few things in an Out of Character capacity so that any questions that anyone might have can be addressed before the plot swings fully into motion.

PLOTTING #01 - BADDIE OF THE WEEK.

As most if you may remember from the last game-wide plot, every month there is going to be an all-encompassing plot at Colligo courtesy of The Collector. Last month was two weeks of neverending rain - a fairly mild plot, really, and something he just tossed at those first arrivals to remind them that they most definitely aren't in Kansas back home anymore.

Now, however, it's time for some of the more involved and potentially "dangerous" type plots. We already have a few in mind but there's one idea that we'd like your help with. Just a few minutes of your time, a couple of names and info, and we can take it from there. Or, rather, The Collector can!

So. On with it!

Introducing our Baddie of the Week plot. Essentially, here's the concept.

Various villains from various fandoms will randomly drop into Colligo via The Collector. These villains will run amok for a while, causing all sorts of havoc and chaos, and then they will go away. They can be defeated via a pre-existing plan decided upon by players and mods beforehand or, in the event when we have no characters suited to stop them and/or those who are meant to do so are unable, The Collector will simply remove the villain from his city before it can be destroyed too much.

Now, keep in mind that these villains will not be around all the time. Just like other game-wide plots, they're going to randomly appear and then go away via one of the means previously listed. The damage they wreak and whatever issues may arise between other characters due to their presence, however, is not simply 'forgotten' when the baddie goes bye-bye. Also note that there will be a lull, just like there will be with other plots, so as to give everyone (characters and players alike) a chance to recuperate before having something else go awry.

As for what we need from you, the players:

Give us villain ideas!

Seriously. We need input, folks. We need the names of villains - preferably with links to information about the villains in case we're unfamiliar with them. We can't promise that every villain listed will be used, and it's up to the discretion of the mods as to which order they're chosen and if/when they'll drop into Colligo, but we need ideas. We only know so many fandoms and are only familiar with so many bad guys. So really. We'd rather have too many ideas than not enough.

EVENT #01 - END.

The Collector sits in his chair, frowning in disappointment, irritation coursing through his being at the failure of the rain to spark any sort of worthwhile response from his current collection.

After a moment he raises a hand, beckoning with a swish of his wrist as his fingers pluck at the air for one of his suits of armor to step forward. It does and he commands, "Turn it off. I tire of this."

The suit nods and turns to walk off, but The Collector seizes one of it's great metallic arms. Without the body moving, the helmet turns around on it's chain mail neck to stare at it's master.

"No hesitation. No drizzle. Turn it off and the sunshine back on."

Again, the suit nods and leaves to do as ordered once his master lets go of it's arm.

Settling back into his chair, The Collector laces his fingers together in his lap. "We're not done yet. This is only the beginning."

! MOD NOTE

Almost as soon as the rain has started, it has ended. One moment, it's pouring down rain and the next, the sun is shining brightly. The only evidence to the rainfall that once plagued the city is the standing water in the streets, which is quickly running down into storm drains and being dried up by the bright star in the sky.

With this, we start our event schedule. Events will take place once every month, typically starting on the 1st and running until somewhere between the 10th and the 15th. The period of time following the event is what we're dubbing the "recovery period," as to allow players time to adjust/cope/etc. with whatever sort of affect the event had on their character(s). Of course, major plot events will be extended as saw fit, but in these instances, the players will be notified of the event extension ahead of time.

EVENT #01 - BEGIN.

Unbeknown to the people filling the city below, a man with pale white skin and dark eyes is watching them from his observation station above. He sighs in irritation, frowning at the various displays on the screens before him, obviously displeased with the events that are playing out before him. He had hoped that the chaos of being brought into this city without warning would be enough, but it seems his collection is already starting to bore him.

"Time for another element," he says, snapping his fingers.

A suit of armor steps forward, clapping a fist to it's chest and bowing respectfully.

"Turn on the weather systems. Set for...severe thunderstorms for now. We'll see how they do with that and up the levels if we must."

The suit nods and disappears into the background as the white-faced man smirks, drumming his long, thing fingers on the arm of his chair. During his survey years in which he tore through the galaxy, looking for those worthy of his attention and listing potential candidates, he'd come across many tales and legends and most interestingly: nursery rhymes from a planet called Earth that he had, ironically enough, designed this very city after.

One of those particular rhymes was chanting itself in his head as the suit returned to signal that the storms had been started.

"Down came the rain and washed the people out!" He chanted in a sing-song sort of voice as a devilish, unnatural laughter filled the rooms of the station.

UPDATES #01.

Members are probably wondering what this, the [info]colligo comm is for. This community follows a new trend among games in which a separate community exists solely for important game updates/changes and the archiving of information that does not belong in the mod journal, yet needs a place to be stored. Thus, it is the Game Updates Community. All major changes to the game will be posted in this comm to prevent important announcements from being lost and buried within other posts in the OOC comm, where such things would have been posted if this comm did not exist. Major changes include, but are not limited to: new rule additions, a change in the mod team, and activity checks. Important game-wide plot information will also be posted here, along with archive posts (that will be set up soon) that will list important events that happen each month within the game. Things such as annoucing new and removed/dropped characters will still be posted to the OOC comm.

Our first post here deals with an addition to the game's organization/gameplay: Housing Assignments. The mods ask that everyone familiarize themselves with the IC element of the housing, as well as chose a room for their character(s). And yes, this is a mandatory feature.
