So, Marietta's just handed in her resignation. The thread is now open to any who want to/have an excuse to take part. The general plan is that she has to get out of the Ministry first, then go pack some stuff very quickly, go see Mi, and we go from there. I haven't gotten her out of the Ministry yet because I wanted to leave open the possibility that someone will try and stop her. I don't know, though, and I'd prefer not to until it happens, because that'll be more fun :) |

| AFK stuffs |

So, this weekend I'll be mostly AFK, but not entirely. I have two parties to go to, so I should be out all afternoon and until late evening on Saturday -- don't know if I will get to get on when I get home. Sunday's party I get to help with setup and cleanup.
I WILL be on one of the two evenings after the party, just prolly not both.
Labor Day weekend I am TRYING to go away camping. BUT I am also refusing to go anywhere that I can't take my laptop and use WiFi and play around for large chunks of time. Because yeah I kinda just wanna have some fun.
Now, September. That's going to be an interesting month.
My husband starts a new job on Tuesday September 2nd. How does this affect me? Well, we've got a whole new schedule of wakeups and getting home to deal with and we don't know how it'll fit yet. Plus the kids go back to school on Thursday the 4th, and I am trying to start a new job on Monday the 15th. If I am super-stressed in September, please please please bear with me. When the new job starts, chances are I won't be online during the day. I don't know yet. No idea. And yeah, I'm stressing over all this change too. *whimpers*
I'm trying to get my arse moving in TCW again. If anyone wants Neville, Sally, or Gabi, just let me know. I'm behind on reading (I know, there isn't much, and yet, I am somehow still behind) so feel free to give me capsule version if my characters ought to be bouncing off the walls over anything. |

I'm really sorry for doing this, but it's not fair to anyone for me to keep Remus as a PC and then not be able to play him. The truth is not being able to play him is stressing me out, and cheating other people out of the opportunity to play with him.
So, I'm dropping the game. With much love and many apologies for waiting this long and sucking this hard. Have a great game, everyone and I'll still be reading and cheering when I can.

I have shit going on. If you're on my flist you know what it is - if you don't, it's not terribly important for you to. Just that I hate hte past year, and even I can no longer get worked up about my drama.
What is important for you to know is that it's entirely possible that my activity here is going to continue to suck money balls. I'll probably manage updates and some play, but don't be surprised if you don't see me around for a while and those updates are shitty. |

I will be unavailable for an unknown length of time starting on Tuesday of next week. I suspect that I will be back on line by Friday or so, but it could easily be longer. Neville's life is clearly a pilot for a 1970s sitcom, probably a british one. It's a cross between "Green Acres, "Seinfeld" and "Bubba Ho-Tep".
She's a high-strung, Muggleborn city witch who gives up her career as a teacher for the love of a pureblooded wizard who runs a nursery and a tabloid newspaper from his country home. Supporting cast includes his daughter by his dead wife, his dead wife's ghost, and his dead wife's crazy father as "the wacky neighbor". |

I am going on vacation on Monday. We will be back some time next weekend, but it may take me a bit to get online. I am also scrambling around to get ready to go. I only managed to get a screen-grab of the second one, so you'll have to believe me on the first one:
I reloaded the Diagon Alley thread to get the post where Kingsley pulled Molly away from Ron, and Tweak said to me: "... STOP STARING."
Then, when I reloaded the journal post Marietta made to Ginny:
Tweak frightens me. Is that what Umbridge is trying to do? Make Marietta over in her own image? I really hope not. |

I'm forgetting things. Gabi is social butterfly girl tonight and will chatter with anyone who wants her attention. Nev is wallflower boy, and will talk to those who are nearby, but dance when asked to. And Sally is there as Sloan and thus, acting her role and quite possible to recognize as ms. singing star person. |

After 2 hrs of fighting with the power company to insist that despite them saying I have power, I still do not... I left the house to borrow a cup of internet from the (very slow) library. Am going to buckle down and grab a couple of hours work before I have to pick up kidlets. If I do not show up later tonight? It is because my house is still operating by candlelight, or I have fled the dark house to hunt dinner someplace where handwashing works (well water is FUN).

| Planning: How the OWLS meeting thread will run. |

Last time we did OWLS, we had threads beforehand, a speech, and follow-on conversation in the thread.
This time, since a PC is the speechmaker, we'll do a variant on that.
Planning, pre-meeting pizza and beer, dressing up, etc should be separate posts. Arriving at OWLS goes in the OWLS post, which will go up shortly.
We'll post an OWLS main post, and threads before Draco's discussion will occur in response to that.
At some point, Draco will go to the podium, get introduced, and give his talk. This will be a new post.
When someone want to have after-the-speech talk (not questions), we'll have a new post for that. Draco will take whatever questions he takes in reply to his comment.
Those guidelines will clear up most timing-related issues, we hope, but ask here if you have any questions or if things come up we didn't think of.

- Drinks are provided. Members who care to get very, very drunk.
- It is acceptable to get very, very drunk, but not to cause a scene.
- This is the 83rd consecutive monthly meeting of the Old Wizarding Literary Society.
- An old wizard named Jheronimus Thatch is the host.
- A ghost named Pratt is in residence. He's mostly harmless.
- There have been members of the Wizengamot at some of the recent sessions
- OWLS is open to members and guests of members.
- The membership committee seems to accept all pureblooded wizards as members, but not half-bloods or muggleborns.
- OWLS is very publicly a meeting place for those with who want to give to worthy causes and those who wish to espouse worthy causes in need of contributions.
- OWLS presenters speak on topics that are usually literary in nature, but not exclusively.
