I made some spiced coffee by brewing some dark coffee and adding cinnamon, nutmeg, all spice, and cloves to the coffee and then brewing the whole mixture. Then I added a little sweetner and some milk. It's chilling in the fridge now. A great substitute would have been a flavored creamer. Just to throw some ideas out.

gonna enjoy in just a few minutes!

I love iced coffee. Need to brew some in the morning so I can enjoy by the afternoon. I had an iced latte yesterday and I had not had one all winter. Truly, it had been a while. The enjoyment was orgasmic. (well, nearly anyhow)

The smoothness of the it was nearly velvety. The extra shot of espresso gave the right balance of coffee to non-fat milk. Yeah. I like non-fat milk. Becase the milk fat isn't there, the flavor of the coffee is highlighted more. The ice made it super cold and since the weather was hot I could feel each heavenly sip down to my very toes. I sigh just to think about it.

Millstone. Now I'm a fan of starbucks, but when I'm at the grocery store, I buy Millstone. They offer several oraganic coffee at a moderate price. About $10.00 vs Starbucks at $12 or higher per pound. I'm going pound for pound. It's nice to pay the same price for a dark roast organic that I could pay for one of the other varieties as well. I'm trying to get more organic but I don't have a lot of extra money to throw that way so when I can organic for not a lot of extra money, I buy it. And I'm happy. Very happy. So currenlty, I have a dark roast organic Mayan coffee in the car (whole bean and ready to grind for java). I also like the Moonlight one. I forget the whole name is, but Moonlight is part of it. It has hints of jasmine. It's a slightly lighter roast too. Rainforest Reserve is also good, but I like the other two more.

Favorite coffee anyone? What's your favorites? Have more than one? Why do you like them? :)

I'm heading to none of my favorite spots for coffee after leaving here to grap some iced coffee. One thing I didn't get to do yesterday though was actually go out for coffee. I love going my neighborhood Starbucks (I actually would go to a small mom and pop place if I new of one in my area but I like Starbucks too). I wanted more than just the cup of coffee. I wanted to relax in an overstuffed chair. I wanted to listen to the conversations around me. I wanted to hear the noises of the espresso maker. I even wanted to hear the grind of the blenders.

I wanted to smell the smells. It's more than just coffee. It's also an entire experience rolled up into a cup o' joe. I think next Friday, I'm going to treat myself. :)

I made a pitcher of iced coffee today as I've been spending too much money at STarbucks lately. LOL! Added a little hazelnut to the dark roasted organic goodness and added milk to my husband's glass. YUMMY!

Very soon I'll have to post some coffee memories of mine! :)

I woke up and made some organic coffee in the french press and enjoyed while I packed for the new house. Yep! My DH and I are buying a house. Leasing it this year and buying it next. It feels like we're buying right away because we're so very excited. The house belongs to a friend but I'm digressing.

Had some iced coffee later this afternoon with a friend after drumming circle. I love going to the cafe. It's a local Starbucks but really the 'coffeehouse' atmosphere can be acheived at any good cafe. I love lounging back in the comfy chairs sipping my handmade java goodness. Elora and I shared some fruit to go with it. Mango, Strawberries, and Kiwi. We loved it. It was a perfect combo to go with my cool and refreshing glass of coffee.

Iced coffee? yeah, I'm not an Iced tea person. Here's how to brew iced coffee in your auto maker:

Put the amount of coffee grounds you would normally use for a full pot of hot coffee but only put half the amount of water in the machine. Add a sweetener, sugar, or a flavored syrup to your pitcher (or nothing at all...). Pour the double strength hot coffee into a pitcher and will the pitcher with an equal amount of cold water. Chill and serve over ice. It's wonderfully refreshing way to enjoy a cuppa in this summer heat!

I too like a good cuppa at times. I tend to prefer iced coffee more than other types, but I do like a few hot ones. Some of my favorite hot coffees come in a can from a hot vending machine in Tokyo. I was surprised to find really good coffee coming out of a can! My absolute favorite being one called "Aftershot" by Wonda. I used to like "Wonda 69" both for its name and flavor, but they stopped making it. I am suspicious that they took a shot of espresso out and renamed it "Morning shot". Its a similar taste, but not as strong.

But, anyways, I tend to like medium to dark brews better than light brews. I always like it strong. Not a huge fan of milk, but sometimes like a little to help with the acidity that some coffee's seem to have.

And thats about all I can write about coffee at the moment. I'm being distracted by this remix of the Pirates of the Caribean theme song that just started playing on Pulsradio....:)

I created this community to share all that I love about coffee and hopefully others will share their love of coffee here. I also love tea, but I'm another community for that. :)

Coffee is my comfort food. Besides the fact that I love a cuppa over breakfast I also like some after dinner. I was so keyed up today with all the negitive crap that has been happening all around me today, I stopped by the local Starbucks (well, one of them) and ordered 2 Iced Venti Coffees. The drive through barista had two straws. I confessed (sheepishly) that he could save a straw because both orders were for me. *sigh* Normally I would not drink two at once, but I was super duper stressed, and it was so hot outside. With the gas prices lately, I don't use my A/C in the car unless my baby is in the car with me.

I was much more relaxed once I had my coffee. How bad is that?

I have another confession. I was once a Starbucks Barista. And I managed a few location too. I worked for Starbucks for 5 years. :) So yeah, I like my coffee.
