Favorite character: Sirius Black. I love those characters who are basically good but are also known for saying anything and everything that comes to their mind. Luna is another favorite--a bit less grounded, but still just as outspoken! ;) Barty Crouch Jr. is another baby of mine -- this has nothing to do with Dr. Who or Dave Tennant (never actually got into that show, cute premise, amazing how long it's been on for, but, I don't know, the interrelationships seem a bit too much like The X-Files to me) -- I just thought he was a very brilliant and creative villian, with greater dimension to his motivations than any previous HP character. Or at least one's that I personally could easily understand. I mean, sure, Voldemort, love of power, who doesn't? But 'wanting to be different' and above everybody? Yeah, real different.
Least favorite character: Aunt Petunia. Though Uncle Vernon comes in close second -- he does manage to make me laugh occassionally at his utter stupidity and bullying. And their son is pretty much just a carbon-copy of them, but I can forgive this fact that he is just a kid and will hopefully grow out of it (lot's of people come from bad families -- doesn't make them inheritely evil). But Aunt Petunia doesn't really have such 'redeaming factors'. Uncle Vernon abused Harry, but she let it happen, and she rewarded her son's behavior towards him as well. All because of her petty jealousy, fear? Towards her sister and the wizarding world. Fail.
Favorite Non-Harry Potter related fandom: I don't know. Haven't been involved in other fandoms in awhile. First was X-men when I was 14, and a part of my heart will always be with that. Then I was a late-adopter of Buffy (I was one of those initially turned off by the name, "Buffy? Seriously?") and it was writing fanfic for Angel in my senior year of high school that I really honed my craft in original fiction. As well as other equally awesome discoveries not related to fandom.
What is your pet peeve?: You mean as in just one? People who make outrageous demands on others for the sake of their own ambitions or laziness would be the major one. Probably also people who don't listen, do their own thing, then blame others for their mistakes (minor annoyance, because I do it too, but when it's a bit different when I'm the one being blamed -- I mean, 'the buck stops here', but don't dump it on me if you share some of the weight -- I won't like you).
The Deeper Stuff
Five years from now you are diagnosed with a terminal illness. It can be cured by a single pill that costs $5,000 dollars and is not covered by insurance. How would you go about getting the medication? Damn insurance companies to hell. I suppose my reaction would be simply to live life to the fullest and be thankful for every day that I *do* get. Though my mother and family would probably want me to take more an active interest in overturning the insurance company's decision, it wouldn't be my top priority. I have little time as it is, I'm not going to waste it waiting or arguing -- well, for much of anything, honestly.
Your house is burning down - all people and pets are out safely. You are able to save one item. What is it and why? Photo album of my friends in highschool, college, dogs when they were puppies. Irreplaceable. Besides, some of those pictures were really funny and there's almost little way to 'recreate' them. Especially the puppy pictures. Can't turn back time.
You find a wallet in a parking lot. It has $1,000 dollars cash in it and a driver's license. You look at the license and realize it belongs to a co-worker you speak to on a daily basis. What do you do? I give it back to them. In tact. Hopefully they don't realize that I looked at it. If they do, I'll confess than say, "Duude, you're carrying 1K cash in your wallet? Wth are you thinking? And where did you get that money?" Not just suspiciously, but, I don't know, kind of impressed. After the reason is given, then I can decide whether to be suspicious or not.
You've been given $100,000 dollars. If you can use it all within one hour you will be given one million dollars. What do you do? Go to Ebay. Bid on a few of the highest bidding items until the $100,000 is gone. If I get anything, sell those, unless it's anything I want or someone I know has been wanting.
You see a famous person in the lobby of a busy movie theater and no one else has noticed him/her. What do you do? Look at them. Wave. Smile. "Hi." Make small talk. Ask them what movie their seeing. If they mention the movie their in, I'll laugh, blush, look away, say, "Right. How was that?" Burying the foot one inch further in the grave. But I'd be curious. I don't know. It may also depend on who it is. If it's a famous person that I'm a particular fan of...well, hmm...the same as above. Only the words might be less. And eventually I see myself squeeing like a fangirl or simply having to run away.
You come upon a wishing well and toss a coin in to make a wish. Your wish is granted. What did you wish for? "I wish this works." What happens than? Nothing or all my wishes come true? Because wishes are great (sometimes), but they don't work out the way you want them to (not always a bad thing), so, yeah, that'd be my wish.
You're 70 years old and writing your autobiography. What is the title and why would people read it? "I Lived to be 70?!?!" it's a funny catalogue of the most inane, stupid, depraved sexual acts, sins and exploits of an arrogant but selfless wanderer who never really had a clue about what she was doing.
You have been gifted with the chance to actually perform a magical spell. In front of you stands your greatest love, your worst enemy, and a pile of inanimate objects ready to be used in your spell. Which spell do you allow yourself to use and why have you chosen that spell? My greatest love. So many things I can think to do with those inanimate objects, but I'll settle for a pair of chairs. The spell: A truth serum. On both of us. Got a lot of feelings and words we've got to get out and normal conversation we both tend to bottle it up.
You find a magic lamp, rub it, and out pops a Genie. You are given the chance to relive and change one experience in your past. What do you change (if any) and why? See above. Every chance I had to tell the truth (and didn't). Okay, that's more than one. Um, I suppose the most dramatic situation, that probably could've been avoided had I been more brave.
