Are you gonna eat that...?
Who: Cloud ([info]deliveryboy) and Vash ([info]stampeded)
What: Feeding Cloud...
When: Evening, after this post
Where: Around the city
Warnings: Vash, Cloud... food??! Dorkness thats for sure. Maaaybe some emo from the blond.

So... He was back... Well, it didn't matter, not anymore at least, after what had happened to him back in his world, being shot and dying in an explosion, nothing less... he didn't know if it was good that he had actually reappeared in that place, instead of roaming around the Lifestream back at home. But dead or not, he was going to keep going.

Forget it, maybe he wasn't dead at all, he was starving, dead people wasn't hungry as far as he knew, the last two days he almost went without food, fighting silver haired remnants... His stomach was just growling at him furiously now. Luckily enough for him, Vash was still around, he knew he was gonna get good food... Anything else could wait, food first, thank you.

Just after he talked to some of old friends new people on the laptop, he hurried his way to the lobby, actually feeling a bit awkward. A lot had changed around, and he didn't know what to expect. Leaning against a wall and crossing his arms in front of him, he simply waited for that familiar glance of red that would mean Vash and classic red coat was there, unless he had decided to wear something else...

He may've lived on a desert planet for most of his life (minus one year and it was his whole life), a place that never ever stopped changing, but Vash could confidentially look back and say 'I'm pretty much the same way I was 90 years ago.' ... Was this a good thing? Given that he wasn't an old grandparent, it probably, maybe, was. ... Well, no, that wasn't true. He'd changed a lot in the past three years - outwardly, not so much, but he could bet Knives would've been able to tell. Yet, for once, it wasn't Knives he was seeing, it was Cloud.

Again. Spikey just couldn't stay away, huh?

Alright, in all honesty, he felt a bit bad for the brief relief over Cloud being back: this wasn't exactly a place you'd wish on people, even ... dead people, like the chocobo-one thought he was. Which, really, was sort of hard to believe; Cloud was just... too durable to.. kick the bucket. But then, he'd thought that of Wolfwood, too, hadn't he- forgotten for one moment they were human, and then they were gon-

"Cloud~!"

Ever cheerful, the 'police officer' (wasn't that a riot?) waved a hand, appearing at the end of the hall. It was always funny how Cloud was one of the few people who could beat him to a place, nevermind that he figured they almost always ended up arriving at the same time. "Ready to eat?" Food, something everyone could agree on. It was a tool of Vash's trade, honest.

"What took you so long... I'm famished..."

A demanding tone on his voice, but a big spontaneous smile over his face, well, as big as Cloud would let a good old friend of his see him smiling anyway. Such a weird vision for Vash, perhaps? He couldn't blame him, he was actually happy to see him, even if for him it had been a week more or less, not a month as they told him he had been gone.

"So, where are you inviting me?" That cocky tone, one he hadn't used in years simply flowed naturally in his words. Whatever that was going on with him, better keep going. It wasn't that he was exhilarated by being there again, that place had proven to be able to break him to the lowest, that wasn't going to happen again, he was not going to let it happen, but if it was true that he was dead, there was no much difference now from being in the Lifestream with those important people he knew, and being there... with those other important people he had learned to live with and even love.

"Oh... and look." He rose his arms a bit and looked down at himself. "No nasty wounds around... and no more stupid sickness either..." Ah, but not even being calm like he was, could avoid a sad smile at his last words. Thanking her would have to wait, again.

"Famished. The perfect time to eat!"

Vash replied all-to-happily, in the correct manner and act of a professional (at food-eating?), which, thinking back, he may have been. But there was no use thinking back on that; the Stampede mirrored Cloud's smile with a wide grin, a tilt to his chin to give a mock 'superior' feel, though it was utterly ruined both his outfit and the way his stomach choose that moment to voice its complaints at all this standing-around-and-talking. "... A very good restaurant! And it's close by, too." Good thing, that.

Nonetheless, the Plant did as told, looking over Cloud with a suspicious eye, even going so far as to circle him once. ".... You could be hiding one under your hair..." He muttered finally, jokingly good-natured, immediately turning on his heel for the doors.

Too bad for Cloud he hadn't just meant physical wounds (that sad smile never went over Vash's head; he'd given out too many of his own), but that could wait. After they got a sandwich and a donut or five.

Cloud blinked as ran a hand thought his hair a bit thoughtfully, feeling if not, a bit bashful with Vash going around him like that.

"Under... Huh?" Then a little shrug. Whatever Vash meant with that, didn't make sense to him right there, not that it mattered much? Then a growl from his own stomach made him hurry next to his taller friend.

"Hey, Vash, what do you do now?"

Already starting to walk out toward the shop (nice little place that had the tendency to sell anything and everything for a cheap prive), the Stampede matched his gait with Cloud's, one hand raising up to scratch at his neck. "Ehee..." How to say this...? ... Well, he could just-

"I'm a cop! ... Don't you feel safe?" Ahaha... Sheepish laugh, and the former (currently worse-than) bandit was back to the klutz Spiky had most likely always known.

"A cop? Really...?" A single blond eyebrow curved upwards in a skeptical yet not criticizing manner. There was something fishy... Vashly fishy, anyway, if someone could call it that way. Not that it was bad or anything...

"Well at least you got something to do." A few disbelieving blinks and another little playful shrug later, he just kept walking to wherever Vash had planned to take him... It better be good food... He had been eating of instant food for the last, well, months, but in that special case, for an entire week. He was really craving for something a bit more filling.

"You don't believe me? Aww, but I even arrested a guy two days ago..." Vash paused verbally, thinking curiously for a moment, even if it really didn't require any thought on his part to say the next part, ".... He was a nice person, actually.. And the jail's getting sort of cramped..." It was. With all the people acting up, Dick and him'd even had to print off three more pads of ticket-paper. Yes, that was a relatively big event.

But outside of that thought bubble, the Stampede was genuinely happy. It was summer-- right at the peak, if his internal calender was anything to go by- and it was perfect; the heat felt like Gunsmoke during the winter, and that suited Vash fine. Better than those weird blizzards they'd get when it had already been frozen, or that rain.. Maybe Cloud'd brought good weather with him? -- Was that an oxymoron?

"Fine, I believe you... You are a hero now..." He said half joking, "Anything else that happened while I wasn't here? I mean like, anything interesting?"

Of course life just went on without him, what was him expecting? For everything to freeze while he was gone? Obviously not. As well as he expected people from his own world to go on without him this time.

Certainly what he wasn't expecting was to return as the did, at least people remembered him, and he remembered them, that was good enough, though... Nero didn't seem so happy at him and he didn't know why, perhaps he did, ah, he'd talk to him later... Whatever.

Cloud's stomach was getting really angry at him...

Vash gave an eeriely sad smile at the words, but even if Cloud had been looking, it was gone in a moment, replaced by his normal fake one. Boisterous attitude intact, the Stampede paraded down the sidewalk, like a rooster on display. "I'm a hero! Well, that wasn't in the contract... Although I did stop a person from speeding~!" That was hero work, wasn't it?

And then all of the airs went away, replaced by a semi-hurt expression. "... You don't consider my job interesting..? I've even got a gun, Spiky--!" Not that he hadn't had his gun before that. Sobering up some (and straightening up), Eriks shook his head. "Besides the hotel becoming a normal, white hotel, and the work we now how to do...? Nope..."

Only a block away now. Aw, man, he could almost smell the food-- (No, wait, he really could smell the food. Darn supersensitive nose).

"Hey... It's good. Being friends with a cop might come in handy when I get a bike again..." He said thoughtfully and a bit mischievously, tapping his thumb on his chin.

"Didn't you have a gun with you all the time before that anyway?" Guns... wasn't his favourite topic, at all, so he asked without much interest.

"So no more curses, right? Lara told me the city people was aggressive at the residents for a while, what happened?" He didn't notice the smell, alright his senses weren't exactly what someone could call normal, but still they weren't near as good as Vash's on that stuff... "Are we still far...?"

.... Mock glare. "Spiky... You wouldn't use your friend to get out of things, would you?" But he was grinning, too, shoulders straightening and overall brightening up.

Oh, hey! Even if Cloud obviously didn't care much, Vash he'd, grin widening. "Haha, I did, but now it's official.

"Only two shops down~" He piped with much cheer, like a kid about to walk into a candystore. This was great-- he'd been meaning to stop by this joint again, anyway, ever since Nightwing and him had swung by on one of their weekly donut runs. But then he calmed down again, scratching the back of his neck sheepishly. "...Ah... Yeah. For a bit they were, but now they're.. fine."

"Maybe...?" Sheepish tone... Not that he was really going to get himself in trouble while driving or something, if he actually got a bike anyway.

"You have permission to shot now...? Amusing..." Sarcasm a la Cloud~

Nodding at his words, he simply kept in the same pace... There wasn't must to talk about, huh?
