WHO: Peter Parker & Merope Gaunt
WHAT: Your character stumbles across a library that is mainly computerized, with a handful of 'paper books'. (The collection is mainly survival and/or scientific in nature, but a few 'classics' can likely be found as well.)
WHEN: Morning
WHERE: Library.
RATING: TBD
STATUS: Incomplete

It was Spider-Man who found the library in the early hours of this morning. Patrolling was still an unnecessary activity on the whole, but Peter had been restless and the costume was always good at giving him ways to burn off some energy, even without muggers and pickpockets to beat up. Even some good old webslinging in the middle of the night could be productive -- and, indeed, it had been. He'd swung right over a building he'd never noticed before, after all.

It was Peter Parker who could be found at a computer near the entrance of the library, though, having changed into civilian clothes as soon as he'd realised what he'd discovered. Spider-Man in a library sounded like the set-up for a bad joke, but Peter Parker, high school science teacher and resident nerd? This was like home.

He'd been here since around four in the morning, poring over the supply of science textbooks on the computer system (having already skimmed through the pile of real books beside him). Finally he had a chance to see what sort of advances they'd made over the last twenty-five years! Or at least the almost-twenty between his time and the time this place was abandoned. Still, twenty years was a long time in biochemistry; the details of this failed HIV vaccine in particular were fascinating, but there were plenty of other things to study, too.

He'd only vaguely registered the lights turning on outside, and certainly hadn't noticed his own hunger yet. This would be why he was always pretty skinny without Aunt May around to remind him when meal times were.

Oh, how curious she was, Merope had found a the library and she had came there because she had been cold outside. Whether it was temperate or not, she was lithe and felt slightly cold being outside all the time. Upon going into the library, she saw one person and thought of leaving immediately, but his appearance stopped her in her tracks.

Immediately, her legs felt as if the bones were taken out and her heart felt a flutter; her eyes found him attractive. Peter's black hair, light eyes and trim figure was Merope's weakness, she couldn't look away or think of what really to say. The first thing that came to her mind was to grab a book, clutch it to her chest and go forward so the two had something to discuss. Merope's mismatched hues fixated on a recently returned book about an animal that she'd never seen and clutched it to her chest.

There was a silence as she approached him from behind, it even took her a whole moment to even gain the courage to speak. "...Hi." Merope breathed out hardly, forcing the word out on her exhale,"..Hi.." Ugh, she said that already!

Merope looked very closed, her body was tense, head down, eyes diverted and her stark black hair covered her face for the most part. Everything about her stated her lack of social skills.

Peter was so engrossed in the current chapter of his book that he barely registered his spider sense going off in the background of his mind, alerting him to the new presence. It didn't feel like a danger, apparently -- nothing loud enough to actually distract him. He didn't even look up until the first 'hi'.

He grinned, a little ruefulness about the expression. "Hey there -- sorry, nerding out," he added, with a wave at the computer screen by way of explanation. Then he blinked as he suddenly realised how much light was coming in through the windows, and squinted at them for a second. "Whoa, morning already?"

He barely noticed the lack of social skills, being pretty awkward himself around -- well, anyone who wasn't MJ. But he at least figured out she seemed shy, and offered another reassuring smile and a nod at her book. "Whatcha reading?"

God, his face, his eyes, his whole form was beautiful and reminded her of her husband. Merope's eyes found him insanely attractive, but she didn't even have the courage to say anything, having lost her ability to speak until he started speaking on his own. She seemed a little lost at first, her eyes lowering to her book in hopes of it would reassure her that she wasn't a fool.

Lowering herself down, she found a chair and set beside him, offering the book,"It's got an animal I thought was weird in it." She showed him the book on a strange type of large, extinct deer with huge antlers. "S-Sorry, I'm not b-bothering you, right?" She seemed likely to sprint if he said that he was pre-occupied as she was too fearful and mistrusting for her own good.
