This community is the former home of City Limits, which was a sequel to Birthright: A Whedonverse RPG. Although the game setting was retired after 5 wonderful years (and remains retired), we have kept the community open for its former members to post their characters as they like. It is a 'free form' setting now and may contain AU or canon pieces of writing, which take place anywhere in the timeline. Because of this flexibility, we (the very informal moderators, Kate and E) ask that every post contain the following at the top:
1) Alternate Universe (AU) or Canon?
[Does it coincide with the canon events of the Birthright or City Limits games?]
2) Location
[Nevada? Chicago? Elsewhere?]
3) Date
[Does it take place before, during, or after Birthright (2008-2012) or City Limits (2013-2014)?]
4) Notes
[Are the characters significantly altered from their game state? Does the post disregard the characters' game epilogues in any way we should know?]
Guidelines: You may not use other writers' characters without permission. If you'd like to make loose mention of them, that's fine, but consider labeling it 'AU' so that you don't inadvertantly control their characters. Please play fair and be kind (to other writers and their characters). Most importantly, remember that this is simply a way to reconnect with characters or settings you miss, explore things there weren't part of the games, and have fun. Nothing posted here is meant to subtract from the meaningful experiences our characters and writers shared in Birthright and City Limits.
