Gabriel was trying his best not to overthink; something that wouldn't have been as much of an issue had he not agreed to potentially have sex with a merman that night. Just thinking about the conversation that had set events in motion brought an embarrassed heat creeping up the back of his neck, though it was getting easier to ignore the more times it happened. The move to one of his favourite places in the world had distracted him somewhat, as had the need for sleep that he was certain he would need in preparation for that evening, and so his good mood and excited anticipation for what was to come cancelled out any anxiety he had previously been feeling. As Eric had said, there was no need for this to be a big deal.
Twilight had fallen when Gabriel, dressed a little more cleanly yet no less eccentrically than usual despite Eric's apparent disregard for clothing, left his trailer in search of the merman. As he didn't know which of the trailers in the village belonged to Eric, he instead made directly for the lagoon where the water dwellers performed for the crowds that would be streaming through the gates shortly. He made sure to take several deep, calming breaths as he entered the enclosure, taking his time to look around at the previously unexplored space as he moved closer to the main performance area. Before he could call out to Eric, to bring attention to his presence, a pulsating light coming from within the lagoon caught his eye. Mesmerised by the glow, Gabriel approached the tank and stood, transfixed, as he watched the merman within twist and turn for what appeared to be his own entertainment. He couldn't think clearly as his gaze followed Eric, dressed only in briefs that left little to the imagination, as he swam about in the water. Never before had he seen something so beautiful or so captivating. It made his heartbeat quicken and his mouth go a little dry, any thoughts he'd previously had disappearing entirely from his head.
By the time Eric finally looked at him, Gabe was close enough to have pressed his nose and his palms up against the glass, his bright eyes wide and reflecting the blue and green light radiating from the merman that he was so eagerly watching.
