Orion gave a soft laugh. "Sorry. I was thinking about other things," he admitted. "Uh, no this is fine. I'm just not used to spending so much time inside. We're at the end of the first day, I'm already not sure what to do with myself."
Part of that might have been the vicinity of Halle and part the entirely new experience staying locked away felt. Pieces of his long-buried worries noted unconsciously that Fae locked his kind away in such a manner. The gilded cage of a captured bird meant little beyond its bars. But Orion focused on the present rather than the past, excepting that Fate had a plan and there was nothing he could do to change the tragedy he came from and might face again.
