The change in energy around the Puppet Show was pronounced; Halle could feel the fluctuations even as she waited outside. Usually, Ghede kept that sort of thing under control. She was not used to seeing him so affected; clearly he needed her help, if things had gone so far. After another moment of waiting for her Phoenix boyfriend to arrive, Halle wrinkled her nose and turned her attention back to the entrance.
Without her reaching for it, the door swung open and then silently shut behind her. Orion knew where she was. He would be there shortly, she was sure. In the meantime, she didn't like the idea of Ghede all alone and waiting for her.
It took a few moments for her to make her way to the stage area, where the marionettes hung familiarly. Halle could sense all the spirits present and could see most of them; they weren't as solid as living things, but she could see them all the same. And hear them – some of them were in agony, shrieking in confusion and terror at the thinned Veil and the proximity of the mortal world. Others were hungry and dark, waiting to cross over and wreak havoc.
"Whoa," Halle commented, weaving through the marionettes, her eyes turned up to watch the swirl of spirits surrounding them. "I totally see what you mean..."
