Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
Who: Marco + Ana
What: Fairy Tale bingo! - "Tea Time"
When: June 4th, evening
Where: The Village
Rating: PG(possible language?)
Status: Ongoing

The invasion was something Marco had a hard time wrapping his mind around. Coming form a well established Pack he'd never had to deal with anything like what had happened at the circus. Though he didn't feel shaken by the outcome, the people here had seemed ready, able, and willing to protect their home and even the customers. He'd felt more out of place than anything since he'd filed in line to help medically instead of growling and shedding blood - which had been in first real instinct. If he'd been able to take people down then he'd have known that was a person less that could hunt down Aletha or anyone else. If anything the invasion had Marco wondering if he was in the right field for the Circus - even though he had the medical training it didn't seem like this was the environment for him to actually practice.

The thoughts of what he was doing with his life and how best to protect Aletha had pretty much consumed his free time making it impossible for him to check up on all the people he'd wanted to check in on. Including the poor lycan that had been shot with the silver. Marco was feeling selfish though and possibly had some shock or PTSD eating away at him, as most Paramedics tended to suffer through, but eventually he did push himself out of the funk enough to start acting like more than some overbearing protector in the trailer he shared with Letha. She'd done all she could to help from making his favorite meals and sweets; enough that they had more than they needed and Marco (though he joked often about the amount he could consume daily) didn't really want to eat it all by himself. No, he did, but Letha had made a big deal about it and then Ana had tried to deny him even more food - so he had to share.

After wrapping the tamales up in a container, his large soup thermos with pozole rojo, the last of his mother's escabeche, freshly toasted tortillas, and a container filled with sliced radish, cilantro, jalapenos, and diced onions he put all the materials together in one of the boxes they'd used to move their stuff in just a couple days ago. He looked around momentarily before grabbing one of his bottles of tequila off the shelf in the kitchen and adding that to the box as well - feeling like he couldn't possibly be forgetting anything, he made his way out of his new home and towards Ana's. Hoping he'd catch her wandering around instead of just showing up at her place unannounced, because being caught on the spot was so much better, right? Right. For all he knew she was at practice with her swords or something. At leas the food could be left in the box at her door...maybe...or he could eat it while waiting?

It took just a couple moments for him to get from one trailer to the next and knocked on her door.

Ana had, indeed, been out practicing, drilling herself on basics because they were easy. And also because they gave her something to do. They were moving tonight, and she couldn't be more pleased about that. She wanted to get out of Rome, away from the memories and signs of the attack. Away from the hunters who'd tried so hard to destroy their home. She didn't usually hunt humans, but for these assholes, she'd made an exception.

She made her way back to the Village, intending to maybe shower and have an early night, when she spotted Marco in front of her trailer. Curious and a bit cautious, she slowed her approach. Marco seemed like a decent enough sort, both he and Aletha did, but Ana had trust issues a mile wide, especially with men she didn't know very well. Still. He was there and she'd deal with it, and perhaps see what was in the box he was carrying. "Hola," she called, as she got closer.

The problem with the Village was that there were too many damn scents of creatures and weres that focusing on anything that wasn't Aletha or food was extremely difficult for someone like Marco. It was frustrating because he tended to work off of the scent map in his mind and not his vision first. Hearing Ana, for the first time, was weird as he hadn't expected the sound to come from behind. The Spanish tipping him off to the fact that it was her before he actually spun around to greet her.

His smile was a bit lopsided and could possibly be categorized as goofy. Normally he didn't smile to smile, but he knew very key things about Ana that made him want to smile. She enjoyed food as much as him, she could cook food he was sure to love, she'd share, and even though the scent of feline wafted off of her like heat off of a pond, she felt like Pack. "Hey," the single word holding the tone of a greeting and somehow an apology for just showing up all at the same time. He moved out of her way, but also offered the box towards her, not to take, but to view, "I bring offerings of the edible type to lift your spirits and because mi amor has forbidden me to hide food from her for myself." It was and was not a joke, his smile turning to a cocked smirk. At least he listened and did what he was told?

Ana couldn't help but smile back. Jaguars were mostly solitary creatures, but Ana was slowly accumulating what could probably be called a pack. Which had happened almost without her knowing, but she couldn't say she minded all that much. It would take time for her first reactions to settle, and they might never go away entirely. But as far as first steps went, she figured she was doing alright.

The smell of meat and onions hit her nose, and she fought to keep from drooling. "Oh shit, whatever that is smells amazing," she told him. "I'm so happy Aletha doesn't let you hide food. Hang on a minute, let me open the door." She retrieved her keys and unlocked her trailer, motioning for him to follow her inside. "Want a drink?" she asked, moving toward her small kitchen.

"You and her both," he quipped with a chuckle as he waited for her to open the door and then followed as she'd visually instructed him to do so and managing to use his foot to close the door behind them without kicking or allowing the door to bang as he passed through. A low whistle given as he looked around, "nice place."

He had yet to see any other interiors and had assumed they all looked relatively the same, but he had been wrong. More magic shit he wasn't ready to deal with. "Yeah, that'd be great," he offered as he wandered behind her - leaving enough space she didn't feel he was impeding in her space unnecessarily. Forgetting that he'd brought tequila for her as well, "I didn't bring sweets this time, but there's plenty for a good meal and a snack." He offered as he paused near her stairs.

"Thanks," she called over her shoulder, moving around in the kitchen. "I wanted it to look lived in, you know? Comfy. People can sit on the furniture and not worry about messing it up."

She pulled some glasses down, grabbed a bottle of rum and another of Coke, and managed to juggle everything back into the living room without dropping it. Thankfully. Glassware was a bitch to clean up. "No worries, considering you brought a boxful and it smells great," she told him, setting things on the table. "I should make churros soon, though. Everyone needs more churros."

"I saw this thing about mermaid churros," Marrco noted as he followed Ana with his eyes as she moved around the place and finally settled in the living room area - he finally moved towards her and sat the box down on the table for her and out of the way of the glasses and such. "Something about smearing it in blueberry frosting or something and putting it on ice cream? I don't know, it looked like festival food though so I wanted it." He shrugged a bit as he waited for his host to settle so he could sit without being in her personal space.

"Point is, you're right, everyone needs more churros." He knew he was going to be letting her and Leth both know how right they were about things - they were holding snacks and baked goods hostage for God's sake! In the cutest way possible, of course, because inside jokes were always fun to have. "Oh, yeah, here," he shook his head as if trading off one thought for another as he moved to lift one box panel so he could slide the blue bottle of tequila free and setting it on the table near the box for her to admire or take if she wished. "Almost forgot the real gift," he smirked a bit after placing it out.

"I can probably make you some of those," Ana replied, arranging glasses and bottles on the table. The majority of the space was left clear for eating, of course, and given the size of the box, she didn't doubt they'd need pretty much all of it. Her stomach growled in anticipation.

Her eyes widened when she saw the bottle. "Oh shit, it's real tequila," she said, smiling at the sight of it. "Gracias. We're so having some of this at some point during the evening. Damn, I'm gonna have to up my baking ante. Well I do love a challenge, I'll figure something out." She went back into the kitchen quickly to grab plates and silverware, then headed back out and sat down across from. "Alright. Show me what I can smell."

"Yeah?" The perked response gaining Ana a quick smile and a cocked brow that made his expression somehow seem hopeful instead of the normal look of judgement he held when he was questioning someone's motives.

The look on Ana's face at the sight of the bottle awarded her a genuine explosion of laughter, "de nada," he managed just before she started talking about baking - he'd be silent if it meant more people baking goods near or around him and especially if he got any bit of the goodness. Nodding instead and then opening up the box as she made her way back with plates and silverware.

"Alright, we've got tamales de rajas y queso, pozole rojo, and Aletha may kill me, but we're finishing off our..." his voice suddenly seemed to stutter as he emphasized the "r" in "our" and seemed to change what he was going to say mid-sentence, "...our tortillas, she just made them, I stole them, they're ours now." Glad that he could keep his eyes in the box instead of see Ana's expression at the stutter in his choice of phrasing and words. The rest of the food was pulled out and placed on display, "Provecho!"

"Yeah," she replied, smiling slightly in return. It was hard to keep up walls around someone like Marco, especially when he turned up with offerings of food and booze. It had never failed to make her smile, how something as simple as sharing food could bring people together. And it was often how she expressed her affection for someone. If you were happy, or sad, or just needed a pick me up, Ana would show up with something. Her abuela had instilled that desire in her since the time she was a teenager. She didn't do it for everyone, but if boxes of empanadas started showing up on your porch, it was a pretty safe bet that Ana liked you.

Her mouth watered even more as he unpacked the box, raising one eyebrow as he stuttered through the sentence, but choosing not to remark on it. "Of course she made the tortillas," she laughed. "That's good, though, they always taste better when you make them yourself." The smell was all but crawling up her nose, and her stomach growled even louder in response. Ana passed him a plate and took one of the tamales, biting into it and letting out a sound of pleasure. "If Aletha wants to come live here and cook for me forever, I will fully support this," she laughed.
