Who: Halle, NPC Bitsy, Orion What: Playing by the sea When: May 29th, late morning Where: The beach, beside a tidal pool Rating: Probably low!
As much as Halle would have loved for the pull she felt to be just toward the beach, it was difficult to keep her eyes off the cave that lay beyond. There was nothing strange about it, nothing shiny or spiritual like the rift in Danvers, but it still looked interesting – maybe more interesting than it would have otherwise, because she didn't feel an inherent sense of fear.
For the day, though, her exploration was limited to the beach, something that she had decided when the little girl had asked to go along with her. Children didn't belong in places where they might get hurt, especially children that Halle didn't know and who looked lovely and delicate. She had agreed, of course, and the little girl — Bitsy — had gathered a couple of her ragdolls up and followed after.
It was nice, entertaining. Halle had spread out a blanket a safe distance from the water-line, but she had spent the better part of an hour playing with the Romani girl, identifying creatures that were swept into a nearby tidal pool and marveling appropriately at the shells that Bitsy located. It had been more enjoyable than expected, honestly; Halle had never really spent much time with children before, and all of Katya's memories of them were melancholy in nature, nothing that she had wanted to explore.
Bitsy had finally pulled herself away from the pool in order to come and sit with the medium, although Halle figured that would be somewhat short-lived. She seemed interested in what the older woman could do, though, at least for the time being: right then, Halle was projecting a bit of herself into each of the ragdolls that Bitsy had brought, using her power to make them interact as the little girl narrated.
