"Handy," Halle admitted, snagging her own piece of bread from the basket before settling back down. Bitsy was little, as her name implied, but could probably eat the whole basket by herself. That had been Halle's experience with kids so far; it was best not to procrastinate too long with food. Besides, it allowed her to relax and recline, getting comfortable on her side, propped up on her elbow.
From there she could tear off pieces of the bread, see everyone, and participate appropriately in the conversation. Which was just making her grin, at this point. "It's true! I do love pasta. Not as much as Mallory, maybe? But definitely enough to check out more than one restaurant."
Watching him with the little girl was pretty adorable. They obviously had a close, easy relationship. "Someone should have told me that way earlier," the blonde offered a little wryly, wrinkling her nose cutely in Bitsy's direction. "I pick out a nice safe tidal pool to explore, and she's practically ready to deep-sea dive for things." Another trill of giggles followed this faux-complaint. "Had to tell her twice that I wasn't a mermaid."
