The brief distraction that Nevenka's vines provided was much needed, for it gave Jianfan time to breathe without the threat of the beast attacking again. The sight of it struggling was reassuring, the strength of the plants bringing it to heel.
Swinging his sword through the air, Jianfan let the blade fall on the juncture of the creature's neck. It let out a roar of anger and pain, mouth foaming as it continued to snap and fight against its bonds. It was then that they snapped, allowing the creature to spring free, but Ji was anticipating that. He was able to dodge as the beast launched at him, the point of his sword aimed at the heart as it sailed through the air. A heavy weight against the blade and a whimper indicated that the tip had met its mark.
Still, the creature fought.
Jianfan was able to dodge the majority of its attacks, especially given its recent handicap that thankfully slowed it down. It was with further assistance from Nevenka's vines that it was eventually immobilised, pinned to the ground for long enough to allow Ji another fatal swipe at its neck.
It took three more heavy blows for the head to roll away from the body.
