"We've all left things behind," Nevenka assured her gently. Cordy wouldn't be the first one who might not be able to go back somewhere. So many of them had been on the run or abandoned what they'd previously had. "I'll take you shopping soon. It'll be on me, as a welcome."
Nevenka sat back down at her own table, checking her reflection in the mirror and running a finger along one edge of her lips to neaten the deep red lipstick she was wearing. She nodded to Cordy's words and turned back to look at her instead of herself. "Yes, there's plenty of working up the crowd here. How are you at calming them down as well? They get themselves into states sometimes and although we have security here to take care of us, it's useful to have some techniques for defusing them."
