"Laughing puppy," Lamb said, snapping her jaws at him playfully as she recalled the hyenas she had once seen travelling through Africa. "Good boys, rough friends. Don't like to share their meals.
"You should try it then, little puppy," she told him. She dropped her arms onto the table, properly displaying the newly forming scars and not-quite-healed cuts from one on of her shows, these ones not still bleeding like the ones on her back. "If you don't like the pain, the nurses will heal you and take it all away. No one here ever has to feel anything so base as pain." She sounded more than slightly mocking towards this idea.
