Mona's reaction deepened the frown on her lips, and Dia sank back down to sit, laying a comforting hand on the girl's shoulder. "There now, I would not make you go. If it wouldn't help you to see these men as afraid as they've made you, then we will stay here, where you know you're safe." Even with that said, Dia had to take a deep breath to quiet her inner tigress, to still the shadows of dark stripes sliding over her skin.
"I will make sure that the spaces around the circus grounds are safe for you, and for others. And until you feel safe again, you will have someone with you when you venture out. Yes?" Again, she gently petted her fingertips over Mona's curls. "I've only seen a few things in the city. Maybe you would help me get my bearings?"
