Bella had been anxious, the nervous excitement kind that she figured came naturally. She had just passed her control test in front of Jacob, Leah and Seth and was about to see Renesmee for the first time as a newborn. Obviously she didn’t want to put her daughter in harms way at all but even Edward seemed impressed with her control thus far, that had to mean something. But yet she was nervous, her good luck had to run out sometime.
Though none of that worry seemed to matter anymore because she wasn’t where she was supposed to be. Bella had spent an unidentified amount of time crouched into her hunting position, on edge and completely confused. She was no longer standing outside of the house, preparing to see her daughter for the first time nor was Edward or the others anywhere in sight. Her human memories were still foggy but everything from seeing Edwards face for the first time with her new eyes to her first hunting trip were crystal clear. That is why when she couldn’t remember anything at all about how she got to where she was currently standing she knew something had gone horribly wrong.
After calming herself down and standing, Bella paced for a few long moments, the annoying heels Alice had set out for her digging into the sand as she did so. She didn’t need to pace, she could have stood perfectly still and felt just as comfortable but the human habit seemed fitting in the current situation. “Think.” Bella whispered to herself, stopping suddenly with sigh. What was going on?
