Everything changes...
Character(s): Gwen Cooper and open
Day: day 3
Time of Day: late morning
Location: woods.
Rating: probably PG
Status: incomplete

Eyes slowly opened as Gwen started to wake. She felt something cold and strange beneath, definitely wasn’t her bed. As Gwen rolled over she caught sit of she sky above her, she was outside laying in the grass, the grass was a bit wet and very uncomfortable. “What the hell.” She said to herself as she slowly stood up. This place didn’t look familiar at all and that started to worry Gwen. She had been out tracking an alien single and then all of a sudden she was here. She couldn’t remember anything that happened but she figured it had to do with the alien.

Gwen moved her hand over to her eye as she pressed the button on her ear piece to try and talk to the others. “Owen? Ianto? Tosh?” She waited for a second with no response. “Hello? Anyone?” Still no response. That was not a good sign at all.

Gwen started to walk in what seemed to be some sort of woods. She took note of everything around her as she was trying to figure out just where she was. As she continued to walk she reached back and pulled her gun out of the back of her pants. She thought about Jack and how he left them and if it wasn’t for him leaving she probably wouldn’t be here right now. After he left them she stepped up and took charge of the group and did the things Jack would’ve done which this would’ve been one of them. He probably would’ve been the one out searching for that alien or he would’ve at least been with her, but no he had to leave them.

As she began to exit the roads she started to notice some building in the distance. "Definitely not Cardiff."

Was change really a good thing?

To judge from the way Kadaj stalked through the forest, swinging his double-bladed katana with angry energy, the answer would be no, the same no a victim of his weapon might scream as Souba sliced them in two. The change that seemed acceptable while he was nonphysical in the Lifestream, where he, Loz and Yazoo had been guided by Aerith's gentling spirit, made him edgy after they were taken to fight in some war of good and evil. He was captive in a body once again, confined to boundaries he despised.

More so since Loz didn't seem to get it, and Yazoo who was at least as intelligent as Kadaj, apparently wanted to enjoy physicality. Otherwise, why would Yazoo seem interested in the clothes in those shops and why had he seemed to flirt with Henry? Kadaj growled, denying he had any curiosity about the man called Henry.

He stopped, shaking his head of silvery hair that looked white in the daylight, as he glanced around to see where his brothers had vanished to. They were playing their own little wargame of stalk to keep fit and ready. His eyes narrowed, the pupils got more catlike, as he sighted a stranger in the woods. Kadaj stood there, not moving and holding the sword, waiting to see what she might do or say to him. It didn't faze him a bit that she held a firearm.

As Gwen turned her head she noticed a man standing there, he had long white hair and seemed different to her. He also stood there holding a large katana which worried Gwen and bit and forced her to point her gun at him.

"Who are you?" She shouted out to the man as she slowly took a few steps towards him. "Did you do this to me?"

Kadaj idly swung Souba around, more to hear the swishing sound than to try and frighten the woman. She already seemed tense and scared enough. If his seeming nonchalance bothered her it wasn't his fault.

"I'm Kadaj," he decided to be as direct as her question was.

"And no, we didn't bring you here," came a voice from behind her. The second speaker was another white-haired man, this one having waist-length hair. He looked almost bored as he stood there, aiming his gunblade at her. "My name is Yazoo."

A third man, who had very short hair and was the largest of them, also held a gunblade. "I'm Loz," he said, following the example of his brothers. He glanced quickly across the distance at Yazoo before deciding to add: "Who are you?" Had Gwen not been stressed by the circumstances, she might notice this comment seemed childlike, despite his deep voice.

"Put the gun down before you hurt yourself," Yazoo said, smoothly taunting her. To his experienced eye, it didn't look like she wielded her weapon very well.

Kadaj sheathed his katana and held his gloved hands out from his sides. "We're all strangers here. If we wanted to hurt you we already would have." He nodded at the other two and they holstered their weapons but she was still standing in the midst of the triangle they made.

The man standing in front of her continued to swing his sworn around which forced Gwen to take another step back. She had no clue where she was or who this person was in front of her. Though he did seem to finally answer her.

Gwen nearly jumped but instead spun around to see another man standing behind her. He spoke saying that they didn't bring her here and he continued to tell her his name as well. Just when she thought it was finished there was another one.

"I'm umm." She starred back and forth between the men. They continued to tell her to put her gun down before she hurt herself but one thing she learned was you never know who you can trust, so she kept her gunn up. "Gwen Cooper" She said unwillingly.

"We're all strangers here. If we wanted to hurt you we already would have."

"Would you have?" She watched as the others put their weapons a way, and sighed a silent sigh of relieff. Slowly she bagan to lower her gun though she continued to hold onto with a tight and ready grip to swing it out if needed. "So where is here exactly?" She asked as she motioned around them.

Yazoo and Loz moved past her nonchalantly so they could flank Kadaj, who spoke to her.

"We don't know exactly. You'll find a letter in your room explaining this but we're being brought here for a supposed final battle between good and evil. Seems like people from different worlds and times are appearing here," he explained matter-of-factly. A breeze ruffled his hair which almost flowed like water. "More people are appearing all the time and they're over there in the town." He waved vaguely towards the buildings in the distance.

"A letter in my room?" She questioned as she continued to listen to them talk. "So your tellin' me I was brought her for some big battle?" Gwen raised a brow as she asked them the question. If she wasn't used to discovering so many surprises within the past year she'd maybe not believe them at all, which she still was a bit wary on.

"Why me?" She said more to herself then to them. Sure, she helped saved the world and seemed to be pretty good at it but fighting an actual battle between good and evil that seemed a bit out of her league or so she thought.

"There's a town? Where is this town? I mean like what country or maybe I should ask planet."

"Like Kadaj said, we don't know. We don't know what this planet is and there doesn't appear to be more than the town and this wild area here. Oh, there's also beaches," Yazoo decided to inform. Nothing obviously noticeable had happened but he knew his brother was already tired of explaining when they didn't have any good answers.

"I'll take you over there," he offered, waving his hand in the direction of the buildings off in the distance.

Gwen took in everything that they said and still felt a bit of shock wash over her. She couldn't believe that just like that she could be on another planet or a different world where there was only a town, a wild area and beaches. Maybe this was what it felt like if you slipped through the rift like the aliens that end up in Cardiff, was it like this for them?

"ok.." She accepted their offer with a bit of hesitation.
