Entry tags:day 2, dean winchester, jennifer keller, john sheppard, lee adama

Character(s): Dean Winchester, Lee Adama, John Sheppard, Jennifer Keller (posting order)
Day: Day 2
Time of Day: Evening
Location: The Bar
Rating: PG to R? He's got a mouth on him.
Status: Incomplete

He’d woken face down with sand in his nostrils and mouth, waves of water rising and falling in time behind him. The beach was dark and even though he’d searched the area around him by calling out his brother’s name for a good half hour or more, he hadn’t found any sign of Sam, or the Impala, or anything at all that would tell him where the hell he was.

The last thing he remembered was stopping to gas up somewhere in Montana and everything after that was one big, blank slate. His mouth was dry with worry as he tried to go over all of the things that might have happened during the hole in his memory. He remembered the entire week Sam had lost to being possessed and found himself wondering if the tattoo he’d gotten so many months ago to protect him against possession just hadn’t been enough. He’d stumbled around until he’d finally made out a light in the distance which had led him to some kind of tourist trap cantina, and then to a deserted pool. It reminded him of Florida, or maybe certain parts of California, but he couldn’t be sure.

“Sam!” Dean called out one more time, the name echoing off the storefronts in front of him as he took in the ice cream parlor, restaurant and bar.

He sighed, taking in his in unfamiliar surroundings before dusting off his jacket and walking towards the bar. His pockets were empty, which meant no money and no phone. If he was going to figure out what the hell happened he was going to need some cash to get back to the last place he remembered.

He walked in the bar, looking around at its inhabitants. They weren’t the standard tourist crowd. Some of them looked downright odd in the way they were dressed.. He made his way towards the pool tables, looking for an easy hustle target and wondering for the hundredth time in the last hour where the hell he was.

Lee looked up from the bar when another person walked in. The guy looked confused. Must be another another newcomer. That made four of them here now. He shrugged, he seemed to have taken on the role of bartender, it was something he'd thought of doing with his life, so he asked.

"Looks like you're new here, can I get you anything? Looks like you know what that table's for too. Not my game but I could always go for a round of darts." Lee wondered what John or the Doctor might add while he waited to see if the guy would ask for a drink. It occurred to him that he might not know what the newcomer asked him for was, but he had this strange feeling that he would find whatever was asked for somewhere behind the bar.

Dean looked up as the other man addressed him. He slapped on a smile he didn't feel, sizing the guy up to see if he'd be any real competition at darts. He'd never been awesome at darts, that had always been Sam's strength. Still, it didn't look like he had much of a choice.

"You the bartender?" He asked, looking at the empty bar. Wherever this place was it looked pretty well maintained for being so apparently close to going out of business. These were the only people he'd seen in the last hour and they didn't exactly look like big spenders. Dean leaned up against the bar. "Hey, I was wonderin' if you could give me some directions. Where's the closest highway?"

Lee looked at the man and smiled rather wistfully. "Bartender? Well I wanted to own a bar at one time and actually promised my pi...ur, some friends I'd build one for them. There was nobody else here when we were in last night. So I guess I'm kind of it by default, unless anyone objects."

"As for the highway. I came in out of the woods less than two days ago. Didn't see any highway, just woods. Don't think the others have been here that long either but maybe they know.

He picked up one of the darts on the bar, stepped up to the line and put one in the bull. Walking up to the board he pulled out the dart, turned and handed it to Dean. "Up for it?"

"You came out of the woods," Dean repeated, squinting slightly at the man in front of him. He tried to determine if the stranger had just had a little too much to drink, but he seemed perfectly sober as he spoke. If you ignored the fact that what he was saying didn't make any sense to Dean.

"Yeah, about that," Dean said, straightening up and following him as he walked to the line. "Where exactly is here?"

He watched as the dart sailed straight into the bulls eye, his face showing a wary surprise. So much for pulling one over on this guy. Still, he'd never been one to turn down a challenge.

"Sure," he said, shrugging as his hands curling around the dart in his palm. "Why not?" He took careful aim and then let the dart fly. It struck the board a good inch off. Yeah, definitely no money to be made here. He retrieved the dart and made his way back to the man, holding it out to him. "So is this off season or what?" he asked, looking nodding towards the empty street.

John came back from the bathroom and walked towards the bar. Picking up his beer he glanced around. There were some new people there. Lee had started to play darts with one of them. He seemed more relaxed today, which was a good thing.

Feeling a little lonely at the bar John walked over to Lee and the new guy.

"Making new friends?", he asked Lee with a smile. Then he glanced at the stranger. He definitely hadn't seen him before, so he probably arrived not too long ago.

"Lieutenant Colonel John Sheppard", he introduced himself as he took in the mans clothing. A smile appeared on his face. He had a feeling that this guy was from earth.

"You're from earth, right?", he asked hopefully. He was used to being around aliens, but some more people from earth would be nice. Someone who might understand what he was talking about.

Sheppard's introduction prompted Lee to do the same. "Oh yeah, never did properly introduce myself did I? Lee Adama, formerly of the Colonial Defense Forces, now Caprican Delegate to the Quorum of the Twelve Colonies of Kobol, or what's left of them."

In response to John's question he replied "Part of the bartenders job right? He looked like he might want some friendly competition." His voice contained the barest hint of sarcasm. "But it's all good since money doesn't seem to be an object around here."

When John mentioned Earth he looked at other man again. He wondered whether most of the people showing up around here were going to be from Earth. What was so special about people from there and how did it relate to his people's quest? He needed to start thinking about getting back to them again.

Dean looked up as John approached and introduced himself. He raised his eyebrows at the question about Earth. "Yeah," he said, chuckling and looking at the dart-player with an amused smile. "Last time I checked."

His smile faded as Lee listed his long title. Caprican Delegate...what? He barely slight sarcasm in Lee's tone in regards to his dart playing as his face lit up a moment later into a huge smile. Oh man, he'd stumbled on some kind of freaking Star Trek convention. No wonder everyone was acting so strangely.

"Heya," he said, holding out a hand to first John and then Lee. "Wedge Antilles."

He hoped Sam didn't mind him borrowing one of his favorite fake IDs. The thought of his brother sobered him up for a moment. "You guys haven't seen a tall guy walking around here, have you? 6'4, brown hair, brown eyes?"

John got the feeling that the new guy had no idea what Lee was talking about. He wondered if he even knew about aliens. Not everyone on earth did after all. And technically he wasn't allowed to talk to humans about stuff like that. He wondered if the classified regulations still counted here.

Shaking the mans hand John then raised an eyebrow. He knew that name. It took him a bit to figure out where from, but then he remembered and smirked. Yeah, right...

"Long shaggy brown hair? Hard to understand? A bit violent?", John asked trying to look innocent. "Nope, haven't seen Chewbacca around", he added a bit teasingly now, before grinning. He knew Star Wars, too!
Johns smile then however disappeared as he was reminded of his friend Ronon who he occasionally called Chewie, after the Star Wars character. He missed Ronon!

Lee watched the as John bantered with the other guy about his name. Wedge? Chewbacca? well he really didn't know anything about Earth names but clearly there was more to this conversation then met the eye.

Wedge was obviously playing things cautiously and Lee could understand that, he'd done so too, but Sheppard was more than aware of it also from what Lee could tell. He managed to avoid frowning, he saw no reason to give away that he was aware of what they were doing. He didn't have any call to be particularly wary of the Colonel, the guy had seemed to be fairly straight with him so far.

He was a little bit more leery of the other, given what he'd observed about him initially. So he decided to hold his tongue and observe for a while. Maybe he could learn a bit more about the humans of Earth that way. Besides, that was another thing that bartenders did.

Dean smiled at the Chewbacca jab, noting to himself that he'd have to point out to Sam that he did have alot in common with Han Solo's sidekick, but he wasn't able to completely hide his disappointment at not getting a lead on his brother's whereabouts.

"Well," Dean said, realizing he wasn't getting anywhere in the way of information gathering. "This has been alot of fun guys, but I've got to be hitting the road."

He held the dart out to Lee. "Thanks for the game, I just don't think I need my ass kicked at darts tonight." He turned John. "Mind pointing me towards the nearest interstate?" He paused. "Or did you come out of the woodwork too?"

John briefly glanced at Lee, noticing that the man didn't seem to understand what was going on. He had that look, the one Ronon and Teyla often had when they didn't get something 90% of the people from earth would.

"I'll explain later", he promised with an apologetic smile.

Then he turned back to the new guy. He obviously was very new, didn't even seem to have found his room and the welcoming letter yet. Of course he had to meet the newbie... again. And explain the whole weird story... again!

"I'd love to point you towards the next interstate, but there is none. You're far from home. Sorry!" He did feel bad for the guy, he felt bad for all of them.

"Look, we've kind of been brought here to fight in the final war between good and evil." He shrugged apologetically. "Yeah, sounds crazy, I know. And I've tried to find a way out of here. But there doesn't seem to be anything but this town, some woods and mountains on this damn island." The thought of wandering around aimlessly on the island frustrated him. He'd still go out there again. He wasn't one to give up easily. Maybe this was a setup after all and then he'd find something... anything that would get him home.

"If you don't believe me, look outside, try calling someone. I'm sure you have a mobile. You're not home anymore."

This wasn't right.

One moment Jennifer was standing outside the ruins of Michael's warehouse, waiting to be beamed back to the Daedalus, and the next she was standing in some strange town. And she was alone. No one else was there. No Sam or Lorne or Rodney. It was just her.

Reaching up, she tapped her headset. "Daedalus, this is Doctor Keller. Something happened when you tried to beam me aboard," she said. When there was no answer, she tried again. "Colonel Carter? Doctor McKay? Anyone?"

Fear started to rise, and she took several deep breaths. What if this was Michael's doing? He could've kidnapped the rest of the crew, which meant she was all by herself. Taking another deep breath, Jennifer looked around. There had to be someone who could help her.

She started to walk down the street, looking for an open shop, or for someone to help. When she saw the bar in the distance, she started to jog toward it, knowing there had to be people in there. There was always people in bars.

When she got to the door, she pushed it open, and waited for her eyes to adjust to the darkness. Jennifer turned toward the bar when she heard a familiar voice. Blinking, she turned, and gasped.

It was Colonel Sheppard!

Jennifer hurried forward, and skidded to a halt. "Colonel Sheppard!" she exclaimed, her eyes wide. "How did you get out of the rubble? Where is everyone else? Did Michael do something to us?"

They were just complaining about not having women around when one walked in. John glanced towards her and then almost choked on his beer.

"Jennifer?", he asked and walked towards her. A smile appeared on his lips. Had they found him?

Her questions however showed him that she didn't seem to be there to rescue him. She probably had come here the same way he did.

"What are you talking about? Michael's dead. Well, probably. He didn't show up again, did he?", he asked. What had happened in the three weeks he had been gone?

He then sighed. " I guess that means you didn't come here toget me home? Ronon, Teyla and Rodney aren't waiting outside, are they?"

Jennifer stared at John, wondering what he was talking about. Michael wasn't dead. "He's not dead, John," she said as she started to nervously chew on her bottom lip. She glanced over and noticed someone else was sitting at the bar so she took John's arm and tugged him to the side. Since they were talking about Atlantis business, it was best no one else heard.

"You and your team went to look for Teyla at one of Michael's warehouses, and it exploded. Colonel Carter, a rescue team, and I showed up to get you out. We got Rodney and Lorne out before then Colonel Caldwell called down, saying one of Michael's ships was on its way," Jennifer started to explain.

She didn't like this at all. Something wasn't right. Why would John think Michael was dead?

"We had to beam out of there before we could find Ronon and you. Part of the rescue team went first because I had to set Lorne's leg. Then it was our turn but I didn't get beamed to the Daedalus. I got beamed to this town," she said with a worried look. "And no, I'm the only one here."

Jennifer then looked around before looking at John again. "Where are we exactly?" she asked.

John cursed slightly. He so hoped Michael was dead.

When she started to tell him what happened John however looked at her in surprise. Then it dawned on him. They were taken from all kinds of places, realities and also all kinds of times.

"Jennifer, that happened months ago. We got out fine", he said. Well, if you didn't count his injuries and the operation. Not that he counted. It wasn't anything special. "And we got Michael. Blew up his ship." He had to be dead. But there still was that nagging feeling in the back of his mind, telling him that Michael somehow made it out alive. Well, you could hope...

"We got Teyla out first though, and the baby." He smiled at the thought. Then he snapped out of the memories and looked at Jennifer again.

"I don't really know where we are, but apparently we've been chosen and brought here to fight in the final war of good and evil. Sounds crazy, right? I'm still not sure if I believe it."

Jennifer's eyes widened in surprised. The explosion had happened months ago. She didn't know a lot about beaming technology, but she had read several mission reports about people ending in places they shouldn't be. Heck, it had happened to John not too long ago when he walked through the gate and was missing for twelve days.

"I'm glad you got out," she said, giving him a small smile. "I was worried about you, and what Michael might do to you if he found you still there."

And when he said Michael was dead, and Teyla and the baby were fine, she let out relieved sigh. "Good. I know how determined you were to get the two of them back," she said.

However, all feelings of gladness flew out the window when John told her they were there to fight a final war of good and evil. "What?" she asked with a look of disbelief on her face. "Why would I be chosen? I can barely fire a gun, let alone fight someone. Ronon tried to teach me once, and I almost knocked him out. This has to be a mistake."

Looking over at the bar, she sighed. "I think I might need a strong drink," she muttered.

John smiled. "I'm glad, too. Wasn't that comfy down there", he admitted and absent-mindedly touched the place where he had a small scar from the wound he suffered.

"Yeah, I was. Gave you a bit of a hard time, didn't I?", he added looking sheepish. But then he remembered that she didn't know that.

"You know what's weird. You were there when we got out. Probably saved my life... again." Which made him forgive her for the comment about playing with his insides.

"You've been there the whole time. Weird. Alternate reality maybe?", he wondered. But he honestly didn't care. He was just glad to see a familiar face.

He then grinned. At least she didn't tell him he was crazy. "Well, if I have to fight in a war you're the one I want around to patch me up afterwards", he said as he gestured towards the bar.

"And Ronon said you made big progress. Fought off some Wraith recently." He grinned at her as he went back over to where Dean was sitting.

"Jennifer, this is Dean. He just arrived, too."

Jennifer was a little confused by John's comment, but was glad when he explained what he'd meant by it. She had been there the whole time, which made this whole situation a little more creepy than it already was. But at least she wasn't there alone, and if she had to be stuck with anyone, John was a good person to be stuck with.

"Don't ever worry about giving me a bad time, John," she told him, her lips curling up into a smile. "I deal with Rodney on a daily basis. He gets a splinter in his finger, he thinks he's dying."

She followed him over to the bar, and grinned. "Well, it's a pleasure to patch you up," she said as he started to talk about Ronon. "Ronon said that about me? Huh. I was under the impression he never wanted to fight with me again." She softly laughed before she turned, and smiled at Dean.

"Nice to meet you, Dean. Glad to know I'm not the only newcomer to this place," she said before she shook his hand. She then sat down on one of the stools. "What's good to drink around here?"

The Wraith blinked and looked around in confusion. A second ago he had been on his hive ship and now he seemed to be in some sort of town. Then he noticed three of his fellow Wraith nearby and glanced at them. They didn't seem to understand what was going on either.

He started to feel annoyed. What had happened. But then he smelled something.

"Humans", he announced and a grin appeared on his lips. He was hungry.

The other Wraith followed him towards the smell.

Jennifer slipped off her bar stool, and put her glass behind the bar before looking at John. She followed him out of the bar, figuring he would know where they were going. The moment they stepped outside, she looked around, and shuddered. It felt like someone was watching them.

Quickly, she moved closer to John and Dean since she didn't have a gun, or any other weapon. "I feel like someone's watching us," she whispered to them.

Suddenly, there was a slight growl, and she turned around to see four Wraith standing there. "Oh crap," she muttered as they started toward them. When one tried to grab at her, she kicked him in the knee before looking at Dean and John. "Got a gun to spare?"

Just as John stepped outside he saw Wraith rushing towards them.

"Uh, great", he mumbled as he quickly got out his guns. He wished he had brought his P-90.

John quickly shot the Wraith that tried to grab Jennifer several times. Shoving her behind him he then handed her one of hi guns. At least he had taken two.

"Just don't shoot one of us", he muttered while shooting at the next Wraith and hoping that he had enough ammunition to kill them all. One bullet just was never enough to kill a Wraith.

"Don't let them touch you. Especially not your chest!", he called to Dean. "They suck the life right out of you!"

He'd had the same eerie feeling of being watched as they emerged from the bar and only had a moment to think to himself that he should've been more surprised to see that this place had fugly demons as well. He wasn't.

His hand automatically went to the back of his jeans, even as his brain reminded himself that he hadn't shown up with a wallet or his phone. Someone was looking our for him though, because he miraculously found his gun where it always was, tucked behind his jacket in the band of his jeans.

He stepped forward, trying to shield Jennifer as much as he could between him and John as he began to take aim. He shot one of the advancing suckers dead center in the chest, not that you could tell by the way it stumbled and then continued to come towards them.

"Sonofabitch," he said, shooting off a couple of more shots before the thing dropped. He took aim at another one that was haulin' ass their way.

Jennifer stumbled a little when John pulled her behind him. She quickly grabbed the gun he offered, and nodded. "Not going to shoot either of you," she said before stepping out from behind him. God, she hated the Wraith.

Aiming the gun, she started to shoot at one of the Wraith's chest. She knew it would take more than one bullet to kill it, especially if it had fed recently. She glanced over at Dean when he moved closer, being mindful not to hit either John or him with the backflash from the gun.

Finally, the Wraith she was shooting at fell to the gun, and she moved to aim at another one but lowered her gun when she saw Dean was aiming at it too. "Where in the hell did they come from?" she asked as she kept an eye on where the Wraith were heading.

Ruby had managed to get into the good side of town. It wasn't supposed to be possible, but she had made a magical amulet that should hide her true nature. She hadn't been sure if it worked, and she still wasn't. It was possible, that the good side just sensed that she wasn't here to do any damage. She wished she knew if that was possible. But she didn't understand what was happening here. Why would anyone bring her here? The evil side of town was calling out to her, as if she belonged there. But anyone powerful enough to set this whole thing up should know that she wanted all evil to rot in hell for the rest of eternity. She would never fight for the evil side. Maybe this was a cosmic joke?

She pushed those thoughts away and walked through a street. She had to find someone, make contact and offer her help.

Ruby then heard gunshots and headed in that direction. Some creatures were attacking humans. The humans seemed to be able to hold their own, she thought as the third creature went down. But then the last of them jumped forward, knocking into the people.

In a matter of seconds Ruby was in the middle of battle, grabbing the creature and pulling it away. In that moment she recognized one of the humans. Dean? How the hell was that possible? He should be rotting in hell right now. Not that she wasn't glad that he didn't, but it surprised her and that surprise froze her for a moment, which the creature used to it's advantage. It grabbed her and pushed her against a wall hard, then it lunged and rammed it's hand against her chest.

Ruby felt a little weird, but wasn't sure what was happening. The creature seemed surprised and stared at her.

"What are you?", it asked in a hoarse voice, but Ruby had already rammed her dagger into it's body and shoved it backwards.

Johns eyes were fixed on the Wraith. Three were down. Good! He was about to shoot the last one, but noticed that he had to reload. Crap! He quickly pulled some ammunition out of his pocket and put it into the gun. In that moment the last Wraith jumped at them.

John stumbled backwards, falling to the ground. When he had his gun up and was aiming at the Wraith again a blond woman suddenly appeared right infront of the Wraith.

"What the hell?", he muttered. She was in his line of fire! "Crap", he called as he pushed himself up.

Everything happened really fast then. The woman was suddenly pressed against the wall and the Wraith slammed his hand on her chest. NO!!!

John fired at the Wraith, hoping that he could kill him before he fed on the woman and healed it's wounds while doing so. It however looked as if he wouldn't have had to worry. The woman pushed the Wraith backwards and he saw a knife in her hand.

The Wraith stumbled and was bleeding from several wounds already, but John still shot at it a few more times, until it fell to the ground and he was certain that it was dead.
