Introductions & Investigations (OMG! A Photostory!)

Bellamy: Spring, my ass. It is freezing out there. Whoever came up the notion that English spring is some sort of magical season was obviously living in Majorca at the time.

Diderot: It's a little-known fact that William Shakespeare actually spent most of his time on a beach in the south of Italy. April is the Cruelest Month was actually written in February on a cocktail napkin in a swim-up margarita bar in Palermo.
Djedefra: (Probably just as well for our nation's youth that this guy isn't a teacher anymore.)

Bellamy: Dad says Kit Marlowe was more fun to hang out with than old Bill. And he'd know. Smells good over there.
Diderot: I'm making beef ragoût for dinner.
Djedefra: (And he's not dropping anything. I need to find a more untidy human.)

Bellamy: That'll take a while, then. Any of those cinnamon rolls left over from breakfast?
Diderot: On the sideboard.
Djedefra: (Because he knows I can't jump up that high and lick off the icing.)

Bellamy: Hey, you know that old stone cottage at the other end of the kirkyard? Behind the church?
Diderot: The old rectory? What about it?

Bellamy: Somebody's living in there.
Diderot: Really? I thought the place was barely habitable! There's no electricity, and the drains are hit or miss.

Diderot: I mean, this place is two centuries old and was pretty run-down when I bought it, and it's the new rectory. I sold the old cottage to the village council three years ago. Thought they were going to make it a park or something.

Bellamy: Well, there's a bunch of packing crates on the front step, and I saw a stranger walking around the kirkyard. Some guy with silver hair. Didn't look like a tourist. I guess it could be another idiot paranormal researcher down from London.

**KNOCK KNOCK**
Diderot: Ah, that'll be Amandine and Arouet. She said they'd be coming round for tea.
Bellamy: It's open! Come on in!
Djedefra: (Cinnamon roll crumbs! At least one of 'em is messy!)

???: Hullo! Anyone at home? I'm moving in across the yard, and I was hoping you could tell me where the closest postbox is.

Diderot: Oh, sorry. I thought that was my sister at the door! I'm Aramis Diderot, and this is my housemate, Bellamy. Welcome to Westraven.
Jack: I'm Jack Knight. Nice to meet you.
Bellamy: I wondered who the new guy was. You have a roommate with silver hair?

Jack: No, it's just me and my dog, so...
Diderot: *sigh* I suppose we'll have to brace for the usual brigade of Londoners with EMF meters trampling through the begonias, then.
Jack: Sorry?
Bellamy: We have something of a paranormal investigator infestation. You'll probably see your share, everyone seems to think the old church and grounds are haunted.
Djedefra: (Timelords, Djinn, Half-cat Immortal Gatekeepers, and a misplaced French aristocrat from the 18th century, but no ghosts.)

Diderot: It's all part of the village's charm! There's a postbox down the lane and across from the pub on the corner. It's checked more often than the one next to the card shop on the circle.
Jack: Super, thanks!
Bellamy: Funny, though. He didn't seem to be the sort...
Djedefra: (Actually, it's more weird that we don't have ghosts.)

Jack: Thanks for your help! I'll be seeing you around, I expect. Cheers!

Diderot: Well. That answers a few questions.
Bellamy: I don't know. It raises a lot more.
Djedefra: (Yes, like are you going to chop up that steak now, and do I get the scraps?)

MEANWHILE, OUTSIDE

I'll get you soon enough, Jack Knight. And I'll take back what belongs to me.

This photostory would not have been possible without two very dear friends, who not only let us take Jack off their hands a year ago, but swooped in in a pinch to get a body for Junon, the hooded fellow at the end. (I have been through probably the worst dolly ordeal ever over that poor boy's limbs. :p) Thank you so much guys! <3 Between you two and two other benefactors providing Ilium with some pimping new duds, I've found my doll love again! I'm so in love with this boy, I can't even say. he's just so gorgeous. I can't believe he's whole at last!

JACK! OMG, I forgot how adorable he is. ♥ That pink wig really just fell right on his head and stayed there, huh? He looks great with your boys. So cute! So friendly! So boyish! And check out Junon, standin' like a pro! Next I expect he will sit down, and maybe wear shoes! And of course my preciousssssss Bellamoo~ And the entire tiny set which I am so jealous of (despite the fact that none of my minis would know what to do with a kitchen their size, as one's blind and a cat, and one's Viran).

YAY PHOTOSTORIES! \o/

JACK IS MADE OF SWEETNESS AND CANDY.

The fact that he has told us horrible atrocious things about his past and how he acquired Valentine does not change this. If you shook him, he would rain sweet-tarts, and say things like 'allo! and cheers!
He is like a tall, pink-haired, British Yugi.

Though, the wig does not /really/ stay there. It needs some tape, or something. :p

how the ever loving anything did you find a doll that would not only wear that wig, but work EVERYTHING about it. (how old is that wig, anyway. i seem to recall it being ancient?)

fff are those new eyes in bellamy? they are super gorgeous. :Q~ his "twin" (not arouet, but gran, your extended dollfamily's OTHER present jade v2 w/default faceup;;;;;) is giving me hell lately. maybe i shouldn't have stuck terrible demon eyes in recently. perhaps i was inviting some kind of problem? sigh. (DEEP, DARK, DEMONIC ENERGY.)

also i may or may not be quietly losing it about the paranormal investigators trampling flowers. the best. (YOU AIN'T FOOLIN' NO ONE, MISTER HEADINABOX, I AM NOT AFRAID OF YOU)

doll love is VERY important. this is a great hobby and since you got me and Shoi into it, you gotta keep loving it! ;)

ahaha, which wig? :D the pink one was my VERY FIRST test fur wig, it was hand-sewn at the cabin in the summer of 2005. And Junon's silver one I bought when we bought Diderot! He hated it, it looked awful on him, and yet this creature comes along, SAME DAMN SCULPT, and he loves it. Won't so much as look at another one. Go fig.

Yes, those are new Eyes for Bellamy! I bought them for Issachar, but they're on the larger side for 14mm (And 'Char probably needs 12's) so I put them in Bellamy. I've had trouble re-eyeing Bellamy, he loves his old original defaults, but I really like the glass. I need to get him a pair of medium silver-gray glass in 14mm, that's his ideal.

ahaha, you know, right, that we have characters lined up for a pair of paranormal investigator dolls? We just.. aren't anywhere near getting the dolls yet. :D

	Aw, thank you! #^_^# I'm never /really/ sorry about getting other people into dolls. It's so much more fun with friends! I think I've solved my major set problems (issues with backdrop, lighting, etc.) so I hope to actually start doing stories on a semi-regular basis again. :3 (Reply to this) (Parent)

I'm also glad you posted (perfect timing - like kismet!) because I am doing a photostory panel at DollAKon this year (first year for this con) and I was wondering if I could make a few screenshots of this photostory to show your set and how you present your dialogue.

I would give FULL credit in whatever way you want me to, including the name you would like me to use for the credit.

The con is part of A-Kon, the oldest continually running, anime-based convention in North America.

eeeeeee! Oh man, I forget between installments just how much I LOVE YOUR PHOTOGRAPHY. And your boys! And your storytelling! I mean, I always remember loving them, but then I start focusing on all the little prop and set details and how carefully you photograph everything and it's, like, WHAM! head over heels love all over again. Seriously spoils me for anyone else's photo stories.

(And Djedefra! Yes, honey, you obviously need to get messier humans.)
