That got him a sad smile, "Well, I imagine compared to your childhood, it was very pampered. I lived with both my parents until they were killed when I was ten," he started. "As Duke and Duchess, my parents were only minor royals. My father worked as an ambassador. We had servants and slaves, but my mother insisted on raising me herself. She could have had a nanny look after me full time, but she wouldn't hear of it. I was an only child. But I had lots of cousins. They tried to keep my childhood as normal as possible.
