John nodded and moved to sit across from her again, legs folding under the water, hands coming to rest comfortable atop his knees, thumbs twiddling a bit while he just watched her thinking on how he wanted to share this. Not that he wanted to keep things from her, but discussing Cortana at all was difficult for him.
He shrugged though and nodded, "I fought against Supernaturals in raids, for the human cause, whatever cause they want to claim, and followed blindly. I was taught that by my father; all he ever taught me really. My mother, she's the one who taught me to read, to write, but my father figured it was hardly necessary in this world."
"But nevertheless, I fought. I did what was necessary, until I found that the side I was fighting for had its own evils; stuff I couldn't handle, or defend. So, I stopped them..."
He thought on the image of what was going on, before shrugging, "And I was seen as a traitor. I was exiled, and I left but continued to fight in any capacity that I could, until they eventually hunt me down, my own people, and killed me."
