Alice laughed, looking down at the ground for a moment. She wasn't used to being complimented for being smart. Usually people saw her obliviousness as a sign that she was slow.
"I don't hear much of that. Thank you," she said, genuinely grateful for the compliment. "Your master is kind and genuine, but I think he's strong too. You'll be fine. The pieces of the puzzle fit together, you know? You just have to take them time to put them in right places."
