Tabitha froze for a moment at his words. Her grandmother? It took a moment for her to think again. So the flowers had not been for her. Rather than let on how disappointed, she placed up her mask of propriety and offered a kind smile.
"They are quite lovely. I am sure my grandmother will enjoy them when she returns." She motioned for one of the servants to take them. "I'll make sure that they are placed in water and put in her private study for her return."
It looked like tea wasnt going to be the idealistic experience that she had been hoping for, but that was no reason not to behave properly either. She was representing her family. It was important to be perfect, especially with a former acquaintance of her grandmother's.
"Do come in, the parlor has already been prepared and the tea should be ready quite soon."
