"Shut up!" Buffy finally snapped, all the anger and hurt coming to a head finally as Lucius went on about Giles. "He isn't my idol. I would be dead without him. That's not making him my idol. That's called being grateful. You don't know anything about this, and you don't know anything about him. I'm starting to wonder if you even know anything about me anymore." It was then that she realized how tight her grip on Ambrose's hand had become, and she lightened up on it, wincing. "Sorry," she replied before continuing.
"Look, I'm sorry. I would've done something if I'd been there. Those people were angry and scared and too blinded by that to see that you were family, not the enemy. I can't change that, and I can't defend what they did to you. It was wrong, and humans can be every bit the monsters they claim to hate," Buffy went on. She looked up to Ambrose with a small, fleeting smile before continuing. "And then there are vampires that are better people than a lot of humans. But, either way, that doesn't make what's being done here right. That doesn't make trading people like property okay."
She turned to look back to Evie, noticing her gestures and silence. Putting two and twp together, she whirled around to narrow her eyes at Lucius. "And it doesn't make using your magic to shut someone up because you don't like what they're saying!"
