"Sit down, Evienne. We're not going anywhere until they stop dicking around with the weather" Lucius scowled slightly, was this really what his species had come to? Using their powers to make it hail in August? Disgraceful. He looked back at the vampire as he pathetically tried to justify his death toll. Lucius had only ever killed 4 people directly although he had been the cause of many more. Still he hadn't broken into triple digits.
"So now you think you can repent by freeing a few slaves? Is that how you sleep during the day? It won't bring them back. It won't stop their screams from haunting you every time you close your eyes" Lucius smiled darkly, he knew the truth of the man and if he was as good as he claimed, the guilt would haunt his every waking moment.
"You think humans mean money to me? Hardly. I may not have been human or a slave but I still view them as people. People who can be every bit as monstrous as we can and are far more inventive about it" he continued, a bitterness to his voice as he thought of the camp in which he had grown up in. All his life he had been taught that he was the monster but species alone could not define that.
Their betrayal was worse than anything he had done. Only 2 lives had been taken that were not in self-defense, with one being an accident and the other being his excuse for a Mother. Lucius sincerely hoped that the bitch was rotting in Hell, he had been far too kind to her. Death was too good for her.
Lucius paused, not wanting to go any further down this particular train of thought. He'd been there before and as fun as it had been, he did not need the anger it would provoke should he end up in a fight here. Calm, cold and collected. As always.
"I would not make fun of your Mother, Buffy. I always make fun of Giles though, you know that. You joined in. However, I am serious now. Giles was a coward and a liar" Lucius looked Buffy in the eye, his voice more gentle now as he spoke to her rather than the idiotic vampire. She needed to know this, because the coward had run and so was probably still alive. He'd get her killed.
