"As you wish," Samandriel said, closing his hand around Alcuin's and taking them near immediately there. Alone in the forest, he let his wings spread and stretch out behind him. He was preening. He knew he was preening, but since he'd gotten them back it was increasingly difficult not to. He missed them too much to be able to do anything but bask in their returned presence and show off some as well.
"When you're ready," the angel said softly. "You needn't push yourself any more than you're comfortable with and if all you'd like to do is sit in companionable silence, that's perfectly acceptable as well, but no one should have to hurt alone. I know what that feels like."
