The Fae could no more hide from Russ than he could from Carrick, especially with a nose as sensitive as a wolf's. He hadn't seen Hermes since he'd gotten back from his weekend with Carrick. Though something had changed in Carrick. Russ could sense it. He could smell it in Hermes too. Something was off.
"Hello, Hermes. How was your little vacation?" he asked, letting none of his concern into his voice. The ex-spy was also good at acting. Nothing was wrong, but he'd have an answer out of Hermes easier than he could from Carrick.
