Allie finally had some precious time alone. With the upcoming release of her newest album, constant filming for her two television shows, interviews, photo shoots, awards season and not to mention being a single mom of four, she barely had time to breathe, let alone do anything for herself. She had exactly an hour and a half until she had to be home for the kids. And she decided to spend that blissful 90 minutes browsing the local bookstore slowly, a giant cup of hot chocolate with lots and lots of whipped cream nestled between her hands. Currently in the self-help section, vibrant blues scanned books on mourning, a subject that hit a bit too close to home, but that was something very few people realized, even though most of her life was on public display. Not daring to take any of the books off the shelf, she read the titles and authors carefully, committing a few to memory for online order at a later time.

Kevin was on break from work so he walked down from Starbucks to the nearby Barnes and Noble. Anything that far would have been pure torture in that weather was the way he saw it. Either way he found himself wondering aimlessly though the store. He always wanted to buy half the store when he was in there or in Best Buy. Those two stores he was determined would be the death of him one day though he wasn't exactly sure how. One of the stores could collapse on him somehow, but that was a morbid way to think. Who thought like that anyway. In his odd though process though he walked right into one of book shelves nearby the self help section. His mouth opened from the pain of the sharp corner and the words, "Son of a bitch really," managed to spew from his lips in the process and as if they were all one word joined together in perfect cursing harmony. Sighing to himself he rubbed that part of his chest and looked up to see if anyone had caught him and saw Allie, not really noticing the section she was in and tilted his head for the mere fact she looked familiar.

Hearing the profanity, she blinked and looked up quickly, stepping back so that it was unclear if she was looking at the self-help section, or the crafting section on the opposite side of the aisle. Odd the way these places were set up sometimes. Looking to the man rubbing his chest, she smiled a little as he stared at her and nodded to him, figuring he'd bumped into something. "Are you alright? These places can be dangerous, you know."

He tried to shrug it off somewhat before sighing. "Well despite the bruise that will probably be there, I'm fine," he insisted, moving so he could rest his arm against the same shelf that had caused him injury. He couldn't help but think damn shelf in his head but who wouldn't after such an incident. "Sorry about disturbing you though," he insisted because well she was probably in her own world too before his cursing.

Her head shook quickly, blonde strands tumbling forward over her shoulders. "No, no, you're not disturbing me at all. Are you sure you're ok though?" Head tilted to the side with a small smile. He seemed somewhat familiar, but she figured that she was wrong and just brushed it off. Thankful she had no books in hand, she stepped towards him slightly, offering a hand in greeting. "I'm Allie."

"Yeah I'm fine," he insisted. "I mean trust me I've done a lot worse in my lifetime. Though not like this video my friend Billy set me online of this woman who had a whole shelf fall on her. It wouldn't have been funny except she was trying to act like a stripper and that's why it fell on her.." he rambled realizing that he had a true probably of just revealing the strangest things to people he knew and didn't know alike. It had been confirmed with the woman standing before him though. "I'm Kevin, it's nice to meet you Allie," he smiled. "What brings you to the bookstore today?"

"She was trying to act like a stripper... in a bookstore?" Confusion clouded her face for a moment before she just burst out laughing at the mental image of some poor woman beig crushed by a bookshelf after trying to grind up on it. Shaking her head a little, she smiled to Kevin with a nod of greeting. "Nice to meet you too. I'm just... browsing, I guess. Enjoying what little down time I actually have. What about you?"

"Well not in a bookstore but in her own home, it was just this bookstore like shelf or dresser..." he trailed off, laughing and shaking his head before waving his hands some. "It was just one of those videos where despite you know she's in pain you can't help but laugh. I would have been a horrible friend and laughed at her before asking her if she was okay really in that situation," he admitted trying not to snicker a bit from the mental image of that shelf falling again. He would have felt like a bad human being but she was laughing and she hadn't even seen it so that to him translated into it being hilarious! "Just taking a break from the lovely coffee chain down on the corner. I love most of my co-workers but sometimes it's just kind of nice to look around and make mental notes about what artbook is far too expensive for me to buy this week that I can buy later or find online." And that was when it dawned on him it was probably good he didn't work there.

She watched him in amusement and listened carefully, brows raising with interested at his words. "You're an artist? What kind of art do you like?" Of course, they were no where near the fine art section, so she couldn't even pretend about that, but she was genuinely curious. Fellow artists always intriguied her and inspired her, no matter what their choice in genre.
