Chatham Island's OOC Community

Hey! I'm so sorry for disappearing, my keyboard was doused with water at the beginning of the week, and I've been drying it out trying to save it. Good news is I don't have to shell out another 80 bucks for a keyboard (stupid Macs) Bad news is I have to catch up now, which I will be doing today, tonight and tomorrow while I Christmas shop. Thanks for the patience, and I promise to pick you out something pretty today ;)

I already tossed one of these up for my other island guy, pruett, but I figure I should throw one up for Asher here as well. Asher is not from the island. He's from Los Angeles. Born and bred there. He moved to Seattle a little more than two years ago with his now 10 year old daughter, Ami. He wanted a better life for her, something less hectic than what was offered in LA. He worked at the Fairmont in Seattle the two years he's been there so far but recently decided he was tired of working for big hotel chains. He applied for the management position at the Chatham Resort and Spa, landing it. So now he's commuting from his place in Seattle to the island on a daily basis until he can sell his house and actually move there.

Asher is a pretty easy-going guy though he's kind of straight-laced at the same time. He's super friendly but also super serious. He needs people who can break him out of his shell cause he's still sort of clinging to the fact that his wife died. I know, same sad story. She died when Ami was five and he hasn't really moved on yet. No dates, no nothing. Or, well, no. He almost kind of went on a date with his younger brother's best friend's younger sister. (No, he's not his own grandpa!) But that was mostly cause the girl had a crush on him and he was trying to be nice.

Anyhow, since he's new to the Island and to the job .. I'm totally open for any SLs you guys might be willing to throw at him. Co-workers would be awesome. Maybe a potential romantic interest. Friends, definitely. I'd even be excited to find somebody who pushes his buttons the wrong way .. that one guy/girl he just can't seem to get along with. Whatever ideas you have, I'd love to hear them!!!

Hey everyone. Alright, so I've got a 'two for the price of one' SL post here. I've just apped this girl (Nat) and sevans, and both could use lines/random interaction!

Nat moved to the island when she was thirteen or fourteen, I think. Not long after her father died. She and her family moved into the house next door to pruett's, and so they became fast friends, and eventually had the whole boy/girl next door romance, marriage, etc. But, Nat left to pursue what she thought were all of her dreams, at the time, and jumped at the chance to go to Tulane University, down in Louisiana. She ended up really breaking Mason's heart (or, it was a mutual breaking, but. That's semantics.) and to add insult to injury, she kept the fact that they had a son together a secret for five years. It was only about a year ago that Nat came back, bringing their son with her, because she'd started to feel really guilty for shutting Mason out of his son's life. A somewhat more coherent version of her story can be found here, haha. Pardon my disjointedness with that, I'm trying to get over a cold =(

But I'd love some friends .. either new friends, that she might've started making since her return, or old friends, that may have welcomed her back when she came back, even people who don't like her much (maybe people who might have taken Mason's side in this whole epic drama), or anything in between. What I can tell you is that she's a total sweetheart, really easygoing, and, she generally does feel horrible for the choices she made back when she left the island. She's very outdoorsy, very in-tune with her Native American (she's half) heritage, and kind of zen-spiritual in that way. But, no matter what, she's a lot of fun to be around, and .. yeah. Lmao.


I'm also bringing in sevans, who is much more of a newcomer than Nat is. Shaelyn grew up in California, didn't move to the Seattle area until a couple of years ago, and just moved (bought a modest house) to the island over the summer. She's a scuba diving instructor by trade -- during the winter months, she commutes to Seattle to teach classes at the University, which she's been doing since she moved to Seattle. She also runs her own dive shop during the summer on the island, using some space from/with the permission of the marina. Lynnie is generally outgoing, on a superficial level, very friendly and willing to have a good time with anyone and everyone. On a deeper level, she's a bit more guarded, especially about her past, but all in all, she has a pretty decent outlook on life. She tends to be opinionated and pretty sarcastic. Hm. What else. Well, as with Nat, her bio says it better than I am right now. But, she could use drinking buddies, hiking, climbing, whatever, running buddies. Co-workers, either people she might've started getting to know around the marina during the summer, or people who also commute to the mainland. You know. Anything/everything.

Hello. I just applied this guy here. This is Elijah Deshler and he's the staff photographer for The Daily Chatham. Elijah is a fairly down to earth guy who grew up on the island. He's 26 and was away for four years immediately following high school when he attended college in Chicago. He met and fell in love with his wife there who later died five months after their marriage just this last August. They were living in Seattle before her death and after, he took the job at the paper on the island and moved back. I'd love lines for him! People he knew growing up, people he knows through work. Neighbors. Family friends. Relatives. A best friend from high school.

HEy. I'm looking to bring in Nikki Reed as a cocktail server at The Barnacle. I'm still working on her history and all of that. Having some writers block issues though. What lines are people looking for?

Hey everybody! I guess I should introduce myself .. name's Kelli. I'm going to be bringing Mason here into the game (assuming his application is accepted). He's an old character of mine that I've been wanting to find a new home for awhile now so most of his bio was already finished, I just needed to update a few things for the change of location. All his information can be found here.

Anywho, I am posting here to see if anybody would like to do some plotting with me. I would love to find some pals for Mason. He grew up on Chatham Island so anybody who has a character born and raised there would most likely know him since it's a relatively small community. His ex-wife Nat (naramirez) just came back to town .. something like a year ago, dropping the bomb that they have a son together who is now six. When Nat came back, Mason was kind of/sort of seeing someone. They were really just starting to get to know one another at the time and have since called things off because everything got a little too complicated. I'd love to find somebody to fill that slot if anybody is interested .. it could make for some potentially decent drama.

Other than that, I don't really have anything specific in mind. Totally open to plot suggestions! And .. I'm very excited for this game to get up and running!! =)
