Set during the present day near Palm Springs, CA, the action mostly takes place at the titular Chateau Rouge, a high-class brothel. Despite its adult setting, the Chateau Rouge is not focused primarily on sex, rather on characters experiences of and society's attitude to, the arguably still taboo subject of prostitution.
