Who: Marcus Riddler and open
When: September 26
Where: P3
What: coming in early
Status/Rating: INCOMPLETE/PG/PG-13ish

It was eleven o'clock in the morning and Marcus was itching to just fall over to get some resemblance of sleep before he headed out for the day. The odd thing was that he couldn't, sure he had his bouts of insomnia but this was different he could just feel that it was different. He didn't like not being able to rest when he wanted to. He had noticed this in his neighbors but he didn't think he would have to worry about it. He had just figured it was a curse gone wrong and figured that it would not affect him but when it did he was pissed. He didn't know what was causing it but if he found out what it was it wouldn't be there for long. With sleep just a hopeless wish he started to get ready for his day, at least it wasn't raining on top of all his horrible luck. After a quick shower Marcus made his way out the door. He had decided early that he was just going to help out at P3 today it was better then seeing all the freakiness that has been happening on the street.

He walked into P3 with a smile on his face and a tray of coffee for whoever was here at this time. "Anyone working?" he called out as he set the tray on the bar. When he didn't get a reply he raised his voice, "Yo anyone here?" He wasn't going to be the only bloody person to come in this early.

Melinda had woken up pretty early and looked at her clock, yep she was scheduled to work at P3 today. So she jumped in the shower and then went to her closet to get her uniform. She was glad that she had her own dorm room because well, she hated to find places to orb out of. So after she put in her headband she sighed as she orbed into a backroom of P3.

When she came out, she decided to grab a box of shipments of booze and glasses to help out with since it was her shift. While carrying out the box she set it on the bar and saw a guy in there. So she crossed her arms "isn't it a little too early to be drinking?" she said as she grabbed some bottles out of the box and putting them away.

Marcus looked over to the girl tilting his head slightly as he watched her move across the room. Obviously she worked her cause she was setting up a little. He knew more about her about he wasn't about to say that, would probably scare the girl away. "And behold I am not alone. Well it is indeed but I don't suppose you are here for drinking," he said as he watched her start to put away the bottles. "I've got coffee if you want."

"I don't believe we've met, Marcus Riddler," he said as he held out his hand toward the girl flashing a friendly smile her way. "Just started here last Saturday. And you are?" He had moved around the bar and started to help her unload some of the bottles.

Putting the bottles down below and up above the bar she looked over at this guy. She didn't know that he worked here or anything, she didn't even know that Wyatt had hired anybody new. But that's what she got for not coming home very often. So she just smiled at him "yeah I guess not. I work here all the time, mornings and at night" shaking her head then "um no I'm not. I'm not old enough" she let out a small giggle and then she took the coffee "oh great. thank you very much. I could use the caffeine"

She then held out her own hand and introduced herself "I'm Melinda Halliwell. Its nice to meet you" she then started to unpack some more glasses and putting them in their right spots "oh I didn't know that Wyatt had hired anybody, but then again I'm hardly ever home" she started to laugh.

"You haven't been working lately?" he asked. Marcus hadn't seen her around P3 since he began working here so he figured that she was somewhere else. Some times there are things more important then working at some club he guessed. He had only worked here a short time but it seemed as if this was a good job, decent pay and a fun atmosphere. Couldn't ask for more then that in a job. "Age doesn't really stop some people," he smiled. He had seen plenty of lifetime movies and lived long enough to know that teen drinking was something that happened. "Nothing better then caffeine," he laughed. "They're all black, not sure if you drink it that way."

"Halliwell? You're related to Wyatt?" he asked though he knew the answer. "Well its a pleasure to meet you Melinda." He contiuned helping her put away the glasses. "Yes, I'm glad he hired me. Hopefully I'll be working here for a while."

"well, I have just late at night. I go to college so I have to work around my schedule" she folded the box and put it behind the bar. Then she went to the juke box and put on some music so that she could wake up. Laughing at that comment "oh yes, I know that all too well I guess" in fact she did she even remembered when she had her bad days that the other waitresses or waiters would sneak her alcohol. "oh no black coffee is alright for me. thank you" she took a sip.

Then grabbing a rag she began to wipe off the tables and getting things ready for the day "well, I should know him. I'm his little sister" looking at him while wiping the tables. "well, if you can keep up when its busy I'm sure you will last for a long time. so what did he hire you for? as in what position?"

"Oh aren't you a young one," he laughed. It was odd that someone so powerful could be so young. He couldn't imagine her having the power to vanquish some of the most powerful demon but he shouldn't really judge a book by its cover. He looked up at her when she laughed, "So you have." He personally didn't see the appeal to alcohol most of the time. Maybe he just didn't have a taste for it, sure he enjoyed a nice wine with dinner or the occasional beer but that's it. "Sorry I'm not into the half, latte, or whatever there called."

"Oh the bossman's little sister. Guess I better be on my best behavior than," he laughed as he double checked that the glasses were in order. "As a bouncer. Couldn't you tell by just looking at me." He wasn't the biggest man but he had muscle on him and could hold his own.

"well, I'm not that young. I'm 19 years old, actually I turned 19 in May. but yeah I'm a college girl" she moved her hair behind her ears. It was too early in the morning for setting things up but it was her time to come in this early, and then she had an afternoon class after her shift. So it was going to be a busy day for her today. "yeah. well, my family doesn't know that so" she laughed nervously. Taking another sip of her coffee she waved her hand in a sideways motion "oh hey its alright. I don't really need anything special coffee is coffee to me"

Then she nodded her head "yeah I am. and I've been doing it for about 2 year and a half years now actually. and your fine" She bent down to pick something off the floor and then when she got up she put her head up as in an ahhhh state "so you decided to come here this early in the morning to help out or something before P3 even opens?"

He nodded, "Nineteen is still pretty young but I'm sure you don't think you're a child. What are you majoring in?" The entire day was feeling long already with the lack of sleep and the boring setting up the club. He sighed as he looked out at the empty room, it was almost as if no one ever came here at all but he knew once the sun went down then people would be lining up to get in. "Oh don't worry I'm not going to spill the beans to you family. I know how to keep a secret," he laughed.

"Apparently my body felt I needed an early morning," he smiled. "Even though I didn't think I did. That and I didn't have anything better to do."

"yeah I know its young. but your right I'm not a child, I am an adult even though I'm still in my teens" she smiled at him while holding the towel "I'm majoring in Psychology. I want to be a family therapist, which means probably graduate school after that to get my P.H.D. in therapy" wow she had just said a mouthful so to speak. She would be in school for a while but it was worth it to have a great job. "well, good. I'm glad because if my brother found out or even my mother they would ground me from everything, but I'm hardly home anyways so....it would be in my favor" she laughed.

"oh yeah. I know how that goes. I was scheduled to come in this morning cause I have an afternoon class so I figured that I could take an early morning shift to help set up" while wiping down tables a good song came on so she started dancing while wiping, hey it was early morning and dancing sort of made her wake up, so she was wiping, dancing, and drinking, coffee that is.

"Psychology, huh? Unfortunately I don't do shrinks but I guess I can make an exception for you," he smiled. "So you're going to be in school for a long time." He didn't know if he had the patience for that. He was more of the easiest way to finished type of person. Some people just don't have the hard worker gene that most do. "Well good luck with the hiding of alcohol. Should turn out great," he laughed.

"So you don't leave that far from your university? Or here?" he asked.

"yep. I've always loved helping people and psychology is a very interesting subject to me. learning how the mind works and everything" she smiled back at him "yeah after four years of college. I'll go to graduate school for three to four more years to get my P.H.D. in psychology. so you can say that I have a lot of schooling" she started to laugh.

"well, I commute so to speak. from Los Angeles to here. its quite a ways but I learn to deal with it" she shrugged. She swayed to the music as she was wiping down tables.

Marcus looked up at Melinda and smiled back at her. Well good thing she was only a student cause he didn't want anyone telling him how his mind worked. "I don't think I would have the patience to do that," he laughed. "But good for you I guess." That much schooling was a mystery to him. He tried it when they first came around but was always too bored to stay the entire time.

"I only live about thirty minutes from here," well by car but he doesn't really use that.

Laughing at that comment, Psychology was a very difficult major and it requires a lot of time and patience "oh yes, it requires so much time and effort that I barely have time to go to any of the campus parties. but sometimes you just have to cram and that's what I do most nights" she smiled "and thank you. yeah I can't wait til I officially become a family therapist so for now its school and coming here to work my shifts"

"oh well, my family house isn't too far away from here. but LA is quite the ways. I figure out transportation for when I need to work and if its a weekend then I usually just stay at home for the night or something" she sighed "so tell me how it feels to kick people out of clubs. well, for being a bouncer. do you get in many fights with the people who you kick out
