WHO: Halli & Logan
WHEN: Thurs Night
WHERE: P3
WHAT: Halli's chasing demons again. Big surprise.
RATING: pg13 at least

So somehow even demons in this world thought it was a good idea to hang out at P3. Or at the very least they thought they could hide out there. From the Halliwells. Ridiculous. There were more witches in P3 on a daily basis than most covens had. (That would be 13 in most covens.) So when Halli stabbed a Mok'tagar Demon and it disappeared, she was hardly shocked that her scrying led her to P3. There was a line in a movie that said Evil would always win because Good was stupid... well, Halli was pretty much thinking things were the opposite way. These demons couldn't get any dumber.

Entering the club through the back (aka, orbing into the office and walking out!) Halli looked around. She had no idea what this thing looked like in human form. Damned cross-species breeding. It could be anyone. So for the moment Halli just headed to the bar. She might have to freeze the whole damn place so she could find this one demon. Or the freak could find her and do something stupid to tip her off. Until then, though, Halli was going to get something to drink.

Flopping down at the bar, Halli gave the bartender a skeptical look. She still wasn't sure what people thought of her. She couldn't just say Hi! I'm Wyatt's twin sister that no one ever knew existed because I came from an alternate timeline. But at least they knew enough to give her free drinks. "Rum and coke." One drink and if the stupid demon didn't reveal itself by the time she was done, Halli was freezing the whole damned bar!

From the moment Halli had walked into the club months ago, Logan had been certain she was just like the others. Well, maybe not just like them, more like just one of them. She was a whitelighter, he knew that much for certain. What struck him the most was the uncanny similarities that her powers held against the owner's oldest son. How was that even possible? Wasn't he supposed to be the almighty twice-blessed, the most powerful witch in history? And if that was the case, then why was there another with just as much power? He simply had to know, thus, his reason for hanging around P3 a lot more than he used to.

She was there that night; Logan didn't have to see her to know that. As soon as she'd orbed in- yes, he knew that too- he'd felt the spike in power. The only other person that gave off that much was Wyatt, but there were a few little differences between he and Halli that made it easy to differentiate them. So this time, when he felt that power, he knew it was her.

Sure enough, she'd popped a squat at the bar, looking none too thrilled. Logan watched her for a moment, taking back the last swig left in his beer bottle before getting up to get another. He too took a seat at the bar, sitting next to her when he asked the bartender for a new bottle of Bud. And by God, she really was powerful! The inner clogs of his aptitude were going completely bonkers over the intrigue of it.

Halli glanced over as soon as Logan moved up beside her. She had noticed him hanging around. Halli noticed most things. She was eternally paranoid thanks to being the only Charmed One and the Twice Blessed child in her world. Everyone wanted her head: the demons, the government, half the magical community. When there was someone who was a constant fixture in the places she frequented, she noticed.

It wasn't until he was beside her that Halli cared about it, though. He was pretty harmless as far as she could tell. But she looked over when he sat down and watched him. It wasn't like she cared about being seen as rude or anything like that. Although Piper would probably care. After a minute, Halli turned back to her drink.

"Is there a reason you're sitting next to me when the whole bar is empty?" That was Halli's nice way of starting a conversation. After all, if he was going to say something, he should say it. It was just as rude to sit there silently as it was to stare like she did. It wasn't like she was trying to be rude. He was attractive enough. She was just pretty awkward in social situations.

Hmm, it seemed to work like a charm. He didn't even have to say anything to get her attention. Good thing she did too because even though he was that curious, he had the serious urge to run out to the dance floor. He wasn't even all that big on dancing. Come to think of it, he hadn't slept much the previous night. He'd actually been a little too energetic. The beer helped calm it a bit.

The bartender set down the bottle and went back around to the end of the bar. Logan turned toward Halli when he picked up the bottle, taking a drink and holding it with both hands on his lap. "Of course there's a reason. There's always a reason. The question is, do you have any idea what that reason is? I'll bet you're wrong." Subtle much? Not with other witches. And those were frequent around the club. Besides, why beat around the bush? It would be completely unbelievable if someone that powerful didn't already know about magic.

Halli rolled her eyes. She hated games. Mostly it was women that played games. But here was some guy with some ridiculous riddle for her. She crossed her arms over her chest, getting comfortable by leaning against the bar as best the could. Halli pursed her lips a bit as she watched him. He wasn't a threat. Not to her at least. But that didn't mean she wasn't keeping an eye on him for safety reasons.

"Let me rephrase that... What do you want?" Halli didn't beat around the bush. When she had a question, she asked it. When she had a statement, she made it. When she was busy, like she was at the moment, she didn't like to be bothered. Although she couldn't say he was bothering her at the moment. Even Halli liked the male attention as often as she could get it. She just wasn't sure if this was attention of the attraction kind... or just yet another magical request. It wouldn't be a surprise. The Charmed family in this world was like the go-to for the whole damned magical community! At home they left her well enough alone unless they were trying to kill her or take her powers!

"To be honest? I'm not sure yet." Shrugging and making a cheeky face, he took another drink from his bottle. It wasn't like he hadn't noticed she was cute. Actually, real cute. The face of a porcelain doll- big round eyes and shapely lips that were just the right proportion to the rest of her features. Her dark hair was almost a glamorous contrast to her light colored skin. She looked like she could be an angel and an imp all at the same time. That alone made her intensely interesting. If he was just like everyone else and didn't know she was so empowered, let alone that magic existed, he would have still found his way over to her.

"You seem a lot like the woman that owns the club." In truth, she did. Anyone that had ever met Piper Halliwell more than once was sure to pick up on the forwardness, whether it was intended or not. She was inately an intimidating woman. Clearly this one was too. Very nice. A girl that could stand on her own two feet and remain that way. Not that he had any idea of the relation between the two, merely an observance of personalities. Then again, it did cross his mind that just maybe she had something to do with Piper because, after all, she was Wyatt's mother. And Wyatt was the only other person he felt that kind of power from. While he didn't know the answer, he had his theories.

Halli raised an eyebrow at him. Great. That was just what she needed. Here she was trying to off a demon and some random guy wanted to waste her time. If she were up here just hanging out she might not have minded. In fact, she hadn't gotten laid since arriving. She might have even been interested. But when it came to demons, Halli had something of a one track mind. Anything else was an annoyance.

"We're related." It was the best answer she'd give him. She couldn't say oh yeah, that's totally my mom even though I'm not supposed to be in this world and Wyatt stole my spotlight. But she could at least say they were related right? It wouldn't be the first time some magical someone or another had claimed to be related to get out of a real explanation. It just happened to be true this time.

Well, that certainly explained a lot. Of course they were related. That was a given, something he'd given stock to during his meanderings on the subject. And it was clear she didn't want to be bothered, so Logan turned on his stool, facing the bar once more and resting both his elbows on the counter. Just because she wasn't in the mood to talk, that didn't mean he would leave that easily. His curiosity simply wouldn't allow that.

"You seem like you're waiting for something," he said as he raised his bottle to his lips, nothing but his eyes in her direction when he spoke.

Halli took another drink. There were a couple minutes of silence, but he didn't go away. She knew he wasn't going to leave her alone. Although she had no idea why. Apparently he couldn't take a hint. As in, the cold shoulder didn't make a difference to him at all. Halli could only roll her eyes. She knew P3 was their main means of financial support, so she couldn't just be rude and tell him to fuck off. And Halli was having difficulty finding a nice way to say it. She wasn't really great with tact.

And then out of the corner of her eye she saw the demon sneak toward the door. "I'm always waiting for something," she mumbled, eyes watching her prey. As the demon slipped out the door, Halli pushed up out of her seat. "And now I'm gone. I'd say it was nice to talk to you, but I didn't do much talking, now did I?" She gave a cocky little smirk, then she headed toward the door in a hurry, fingers slipping around a blade concealed on her hip.

When she finally answered him, Logan would've asked what it was. But that's just when he sensed something new, a new presence of power. It was like his sonar radar had picked it up. Maybe it was just something else of hers? When she'd hopped up, he simply let her go, thinking nothing more of it. Oh well, she'd be back some other time. He could always try again.

When she'd gone, he downed the rest of his beer, then left the bottle on the counter. The music was just pulling at him, and he couldn't resist getting up and moving along with the beat. But the closer he happened to be to that door, the more he picked up on that new power he'd passed off as Halli's.

It didn't quite give him the same vibe. Something separate, darker. A lot darker. He started making his way to the door, drawing closer to that power, his inner eye zoning in on it's clockwork. It really was too dark. Dark magic. Was that a demon he was picking up?

Moving past a few random people who were standing around, drinks in hand and flirting with one another, he opened the door just a crack, peeking out to see what was out there.

Halli stepped out the door and pushed it shut behind her. She followed the demon around to the side of the building where she was hoping no one would see them. "Hey! Demon! Don't think I'm fucking done with you!"

The demon swung around, growling at her. And Halli almost laughed. It growled. It growled? Oh, come on! Like Halli couldn't handle some rabid dog in a human costume. She rolled her eyes and slipped a dagger from her pocket. Flicking her wrist, she hurled the dagger at the demon. It landed exactly where she wanted it to. Right through the top of the thing's foot.

Furious, the demon ripped its human face off. God they were ugly. Veiny and gooey. And absolutely no fat on their faces. "You want to use a little tact here? We are among mortals."

"Fuck off, witch bitch."

"Oh, come on! What are you? Twelve?" Halli took a couple steps closer, forming a fireball in her hand. "Listen, you tell me what's going on with all these men, got it?"

"And you'll let me go?"

"Do I look like I'll let you go? Just fucking tell me. I don't have the patience for your bullshit." Halli tossed the fireball up and caught it in her hand again. She was a bit of a show-off. And extremely cocky. And that was probably her biggest mistake.

Mok'tagar demons had these weird toe nails that kept growing after they were cut off. They were odd when in the foot two. Probably what allowed the stupid thing to knock her knife out and dive at her. Halli, who was distracted by the sound of the door, didn't have time to react. Her fireball flew up into the air as she was knocked to the ground by this thing.

Oh, what the hell was this?? Goddamnit, he was right! There was a demon! Logan didn't really have time to contemplate his tiny solved mystery. He was too preoccupied by the ruckus caused by his peeping.

The door came open and was shut again very quickly, slamming behind him as he charged forward. Within the time it took to move away from the building and between the demon and the other witch, his whole body had changed, the hard silver metal reflecting the neon light that poured from the old P3 sign in the back.

In one swift movement, he pivoted with a forceful jerk. With one hand, his palm open, he gave a thrust and the demon landed flat on it's back a few feet away from the. With the other arm, Logan had scooped up Halli around the waist and swung her behind him like she was nothing at all, a rag doll. Her fireball came down on his shoulder, making him cringe when it made contact, the metal there splitting and cracking, a silvery red and thick liquid oozing out of it.

Now that was really going to hurt later.

Maybe Halli was off her game. After all, she didn't usually get knocked on her ass. In fact, it had happened all of five or six times since she left dad and started living on her own. But it was very unusual for her to not notice something supernatural coming up from behind her. Halli had one arm up to try and catch her fireball, the other was fumbling to get a good grasp on her knife.

Neither happened.

Suddenly Halli was pulled up and practically tossed around. By a robot? What? What the hell kind of world did she orb into? First Excalibur breaks, then she finds this whole weird family that is apparently hers. And now there was some freaky robot guy saving her. Saving her? Oh! Hell no! Halli wasn't some damsal in distress that needed protected from the big bad scary demons!

Pulling herself to her feet, Halli watched this thing... guy... whatever throwing the demon around. Withstanding her fireball. Acting like none of this even phased him. To say she was stunned to silence for the first time ever was actually true. She honestly had no idea what to say or how to respond to this. Taking a couple steps around him, Halli's face was obviously a little bit shocked. She didn't even bother to look at the demon as she threw her hands up and froze it in its tracks.

"What the fuck." It wasn't a question. It wasn't even really a statement. It was just the only sentence she could put together at the moment. She meant to say something cocky. Something arrogant and sarcastic and most definitely Halli. She just couldn't formulate a proper sentence.

Logan had been waiting for the demon to react, but it didn't. It stood completely still. That's right, the freezing thing. The owner could do that too. And they were related, the girl and that owner. What was her name? Piper?

He took just a moment to look at his wound, see the damage and all. That fireball must have been hotter than hell! Well, shit happened. And what was meant to happen, did. He'd deal with it later when he de-metal-fied himself.

"You asked me what my reason was for sitting next to you at an empty bar. Now you know." Well, sort of. He didn't know she was going to go out back to toy with a demon; he wasn't psychic, for real. But he did know she was a witch, which was what had drawn him to her in the first place. Like a moth to a flame. Both of his sisters were convinced that curiosity really would kill the cat someday.

Curiosity was going to do something, but it certainly didn't include death. Life, in fact. But that wasn't going to happen any time soon. Especially considering Halli was still a bit shell-shocked. How every sodding demon and witch in the San Francisco area ended up drawn to her family was still a mystery. In Halli's world, they avoided her and dad. No one wanted to fuck with her. And here? It was like moths to a fucking flame alright!

Halli looked extremely confused. She opened her mouth to speak and closed it twice. Then she licked her lips and scrunched her nose. Lifting her dagger, she pointed it at Logan, but not in a threatening way. "You, stay there."

Walking over to the demon, she unfroze its head. "Dancing. Explain. You have five seconds."

"Fuck you."

"Why do you stupid fuckers always have to piss me off?" Another flick of her wrist and Halli blew up the demon's hand. "Again. Explain now."

"Fuck you, you stupid cunt."

"God damnit. How about testicles? You got those?" Halli flicked her wrist and a little explosion happened in its pants. The howl was a bit louder than Halli had wanted, but it couldn't be helped. "Talk. Now."

"You can't defeat her, she's a god."

Halli rolled her eyes. Faithful minions were so damned irritating. She lifted both hands and flicked them. The demon exploded. Halli put her dagger back in her boot. Then she turned around and walked back to Logan.

"Okay. Your turn. Explain."

"Okay," Logan replied in a relaxed, laid back tone. Hey, it was all good. The demon was well caged, in a sense, and they were both just fine and dandy. And she sure was cute as hell with the faces she made when she was flustered!

He smirked to himself as he watched Halli and her aggressive negotiations. There was no playing around with that girl; she meant business. The talk of dancing caught his head though, ringing a teensy little bell in his head. Dancing. Hadn't he noticed a lot of the guys at work doing that? A lot? Hadn't he just been doing that?

A dagger in the boot was hot. She just blew up a demon, and he was thinking about how she looked when she bent down to sheath her dagger? Oi, his head was stuck on things it really shouldn't be. Especially not now, since she was demanding his explanation. He had half a mind to cover his own crotch after watching her attack the demon's.

"Long story short? I know what everyone's powers are. That's my thing. I tried to talk to you because yours are weirdly similar to the guy that runs this place, Wyatt, I think. And I thought it was odd to have two witches that powerful and that alike in one place." He shrugged, going on. "And just as you jumped up to go, I felt another power that wasn't yours. Or anyone else's who hangs around here on a regular basis. And it felt evil." So much for a short story.

Halli put her hands on her hips. She looked over him. This hulking silver thing. It was a guy? It was that guy who'd irritated her in the bar? Oh perfect! Not only did he know what she was, saw what she could do, but now he was saying he could sense all powers? Well that was an interesting little trick. Interesting and a good way to get himself killed!

"So you thought you'd just barge out here and play knight in-" she paused, very obviously looking over his metal form, "shining armor?" Okay so she hadn't meant to be so punny, it just happened. Although it was pretty amusing. Not amusing enough that she looked any less annoyed, but she did smirk just a little bit.

Logan had to stop himself from laughing. He was starting to see more and more similarities with the more time he spent with her. The hands on the hips was very Piper-esque. Very. He crossed his arms over his broad chest, metal clinking, moving fluidly despite the rock-like appearance. He actually had no trouble moving at all, almost like he was still just meek human flesh.

"No, actually. I was curious about the new power. At first, I thought it was one of yours that I missed, but the more I sensed it, the more I realized it was someone else's." He paused for a moment, clucking his tongue. He didn't really want to fess up, considering the stuff he'd just seen her do. But, come on, it was his fault. He'd been the distraction that had caught her off guard. "And I came out because, and this is just a wild guess, that when I opened the door to check and see, I threw off your game. And he came at you. What else was I supposed to do?"

Halli didn't even realize how like her mother she really was. She hadn't been around Piper long enough to realize she had picked up those little nuances. It was all about attitude, though. Halli had it as strongly as Piper did. And the two of them were not afraid to throw their weight around. And Halli had a considerable amount of weight.

"You're lucky I didn't blow your ass up." She still wasn't sure she wasn't going to. He'd pissed her off. She was usually one to hold a grudge. But at the moment she was still a little distracted by his big silver shiny... well, you know. Halli lifted her hand and waved it at him. "Well get the fuck out of this get up before you get us caught. Let's go. Back to flesh."

"Do you really think you could have?" Which was something Logan immediately regretted saying once it came out. It wasn't meant to be a smartass remark, but a theory. Could she? Ever since he'd started doing, well, whatever it was that made him turn into a silver, moving statue, he'd tested just how much he could withstand. Then again, one of her fireballs had managed to crack the armor that was his skin. So along that line of reasoning- yeah, she probably could blow him up if she wanted. "Not that you should try," he added quickly, making a face at his word vomit. Now was not the time to test his magical protective boundary.

At the demand morphing back, he made another face, this one not so accommodating. "I think I'm fine like this," he insisted. He would be in a hell of a lot more pain after changing to his normal self. He wasn't looking forward to the gash and burn he'd have to clean up and deal with for the next week or two. "I'll just go." She didn't need to see what fire did to metal- well, what it did to his skin. The metal was his skin. Sort of. He didn't quite understand it. His powers were the only ones he couldn't understand.

Of course, though, the whole dancing topic that ended with the slaying of the demon kept him from jogging off. "Why were you asking that demon about the dancing? Is it about all the guys busting moves at random times?"

Did he really want to be doing that? Halli was very obviously capable of answering any sort of challenge. And something like that was a challenge. No? He wasn't going to shift down? Oh, yes he was. And if he didn't do it, she could very easily make him. Her power of projection was strong enough and control enough that she didn't mind flexing that muscle to get what she wanted out of him.

"You're not going anywhere now. You're going to shift so I don't have to kill some mortals and piss Piper off, and then we're going to talk." Halli had done a lot of things she wasn't proud of. She'd done even more things that didn't bother her but she knew would make Piper ashamed of her. But she had never intentionally killed a mortal. It was okay to threaten, though. He didn't know she wouldn't do it.

Crossing her arms over her chest, Halli walked a couple steps closer to the great silver colossus. She raised an eyebrow waiting for him to shift back down. "You can sense powers but you don't know something is going on with this dancing shit?" Apparently he wasn't as smart as he thought he was.

Ah, christ, she wasn't going to let that go, was she? He didn't move from the spot he stood in when she came closer, but he sure as hell caught the intimidation vibes rolling off her in waves. She didn't have to say it for Logan to know he wasn't leaving so soon.

"Okay, first off, nothing I see of your powers makes me believe you're evil enough to kill an innocent bystander." Not that he didn't take her words with caution, simply that he didn't feel she was a bad guy, at all. Tough and more than likely jaded, but not bad. Bad was a strong word.

"Second, that's not how my power works. I don't really sense powers, more like, I just know. I can understand how they work, the dynamics. Like watching clockwork, cogs and stuff." Which was completely the truth. "The stronger the witch or whatever it is that has powers, the more I know them. Which is why I don't think the dancing thing has anything to do at all with some ability. Something powerful enough to affect as many people as it is? I would have gotten something. But there's nothing. A person, creature, that's not what's doing this. I'm sure of it." Yeah, he was one for words. A lot of them when he felt the need to explain something.

And third... "I'll have you know, I'll shift when I'm good and ready." He was quiet again for a long moment, but folded rather quickly. It was very likely he was pushing his luck as it was, so he reluctantly obliged. The metal seemed to absorb and slide into his skin, retracting through his pores like water dripped through a very fine screen.

And... there it was. The intensely burning sensation came into full bloom, the skin around the wound blistered and raw, a new rush of blood seeping from the burnt gash on his shoulder. "Happy now?"

Halli actually snorted. He supposedly could sense how powerful she was and he was still arguing with her? He was either stupid or really cocky. But either way he was irking her nerves. Well... okay, it was either irking her nerves or very amusing. It was border line right now. It could go either way.

"According to done and dusted, you're wrong. It's a she." Halli was definitely not one for words. She said what she needed to say in the most direct way possible. Usually it required a bit of foul language on her part. In fact, even if it didn't require it, Halli had a tendency to use it. Except around Piper, she got really touchy about that.

Stepping forward, Halli reached out her arm when Logan started in about how he'd do it when he was ready. She was going to grab him and make him do it. And then he did it on his own. And she scrunched her face up a bit. "I see you ain't. Come back inside and let me see what I can do for that shit before you bleed to death."

"Call it what you want, but I'm telling you, whatever it is isn't being done through some kind of ability. Maybe a massive spell or a curse. I don't sense those. Just powers." And why the hell was he still arguing? He was bleeding and he was still arguing? Well, he believed he was right. Because it wasn't a power causing all the boogie dismay. Or at least, he had no other possible theories. Granted, it had to be someone behind it, and it made sense that it would be a woman, or a female anyway. After all, is was only affecting men, as far as he knew.

That could wait just a little bit though, so he shut his mouth and avoided the urge to keep explaining his point. And even though one shoulder hurt like hell, it didn't mean his other arm was crippled. He opened the door for her, waiting for her to go inside. "Ladies first," he offered, standing against the door to keep it open while he covered his shoulder with his other hand, cringing in the process. Hey, walking around with a bloody open wound for all to see tended to draw attention.

"Spells are a type of ability." Not that Halli felt like arguing that point. Nor that it mattered. There was some bitch going around making everyone loony. Wasn't the first time. Probably wouldn't be the last time. And now on top of trying to figure out what was going on and stopping it, she had to deal with him. She had to figure out a way to fix the wound from her damned fireball. She had to figure out what the hell he wanted. Decide whether or not to tell the rest of the family that some man of steel was frequenting P3 and he wasn't superman.

And yet he was holding the door open for her. Halli quirked a very confused brow at him, but walked through. She was very wary of a guy who would go to such lengths to be polite. Especially to her, because she knew she was a cunt. And especially when his other arm was about to fall out of the socket.

Leading him through the back, Halli unlocked the office door and ushered him inside. She locked it back and gestured toward the desk. "Sit down and take your shirt off." She didn't heal. It wasn't one of the powers she'd received. She'd just have to figure out another way to do that. And in order to figure out another way, she had to get a good look at it.

They were not. Logan didn't see it that way, but if she wanted to explain why she believed so, he wasn't going to stop her. Besides, he'd already resigned not to argue anymore for the time being. He just wanted to do something about his shoulder. It felt rather useless, unable to move his arm up or down. The arm didn't hurt though, just his shoulder.

Apparently she was foreign to the concept of chivalry. Or maybe it was because the circumstance wasn't exactly ideal or normal. It really wasn't that big of a deal, not to him anyway. Magic happened. People got hurt. No pain, no gain, right? And just because she'd been less than kind didn't mean an excuse for him to be a dick in return. His father had taught him better than that.

A few party-goers happened to take a gander his way as he passed, so he'd picked up his pace just a little, enough to not look conspicuous as he passed by them. Without any question, he followed Halli until they were alone again. He did as she instructed as far as sitting down. Taking off his shirt was another story.

Every which way he tried, he couldn't seem to move in a way that didn't send a shooting pain through that bad shoulder. Seeing that the arm attached to said shoulder wasn't good for much anything just then, he let out a frustrated huff and grabbed up a pair of scissors, carefully snipping the short sleeve on the side of that bad side.
