Niflheim's night out
Who: Reno, Flauros, Belphegor, Midvalley, Yako, Myre, and anyone else who wants to join in. No Asgardian party-crashers allowed! >P
When: Starting at eightish
Where: Emptiness
Rating: PG-13? Will change if necessary
Warnings: Language, most likely, and anything else that ensues when Niflheimers get drunk in a group
What: Reno's idea of going to a bar managed to be a popular suggestion.

"This'll do."

Reno gestured toward a building along the side of the road, moving to open and hold the door for the bar-going group he had in tow. They'd all gathered at Niflheim around eight, as planned, and then wandered out into Emptiness in search of a suitable location. The bar Reno had led them to wasn't too far from Niflheim, a bit off of the main streets so it would be a little more difficult for anyone to find if any Asgardians happened to catch the open bit of the planning and felt like trying to screw up their fun. He didn't figure that would be a problem, though; from what he could tell, the people in Asgard weren't particularly antagonistic, and even if they were, all he had said was 'a bar in Emptiness.' Finding the specific place he was talking about was probably enough of a wild goose chase to discourage almost anybody who might want to try to start something. And even if something did happen, Reno hadn't been lying when he told Yako he could take care of himself even while drunk. Years of being a Turk give a person good experience in certain kinds of circumstances.

Meanwhile, he was just happy to have gotten as much interest as it had. Even if he still wasn't 100% pleased with some of the company--he couldn't help but be a bit wary of Flauros--he wasn't really expecting anything bad to happen. Just a night out drinking with his teammates, most of whom he could certainly stand to get to know better.

[ooc: There are enough people around that keeping to a strict posting order is going to be kind of frustrating, and it's not tremendously important since I don't think anything too plotful is going to happen here. So basically just post as you can, and if you notice someone hasn't said anything for a while, step back and give them an opportunity to jump back in. Hopefully that'll work out well enough.]

Luckily for Reno, Flauros wasn't planning on spoiling this event. The demon hadn't been to a decent bar with sentient beings for quite a while, and he rather missed it. So, when he said that he would behave, he meant it. Also, Belphegor was coming, and he wanted to prove to her that he could behave.

By the time eight rolled around, Flauros was meeting up with the others. He was dressed in his usual wear; a long sleeved olive green shirt, and black pants.

A few minutes later when they arrived at the bar, Flauros answered, "Then let's go inside and have some fun!" After walking inside the bar, Flauros made a beeline to the bar, but quickly turned around. "Which one of us is playing barkeep?"

Midvalley followed Reno into the bar. "So, a demon and a sax player walk into a bar..." he said, not really expecting anyone to laugh.

When Flauros asked his question, Midvalley thought for a moment. "Well, in all modesty, I can mix a drink with the best of them," he said. "If Reno approves..."

"Thank you, Reno," Belle said with a nod as she walked past the other redhead, and ignored Midvalley's joke.

She took a look around the bar itself, then walked over to the bar itself to take a look at the selection of liquor. "Plentiful selection here, and right, who the hell is going to be the server?"

Belle took a seat for the moment, looked over at the team. The only person she really knew was Flauros; this little get together would hopefully allow her to get to know her teammate's better. "Or, you know, we could just make our own drinks! Flauros, hand me that fifth of Jack, and get me a cold coke."

Jack and coke, a common staple for demons in her world; might as well start out light.

"Hey, I approve of whatever you guys want to do," Reno called back through the door. "Make your own, or ask Midvalley, whatever sounds good."

Once everyone was inside, he followed, letting the door swing shut behind him, and went to the bar to grab himself a glass of scotch.

"Yes, ma'am!" Flauros exclaimed with a mock salute to Belle. Then he vaulted himself over the bar, barely missing the glasses. "That was a close one. Jack and coke, right, Belle?"

He looked over at Belle who nodded her head, and proceeded to grab the items that she had ordered. In just a moment he was placing the Jack, coke, and glass in front of the red head. "Sure you don't want any ice?"

"Now, I'm not sure about the rest of you, but I'm starting off with a fine bottle of rum!" No sooner said, and the demon was grabbing a bottle of Don Lorenzo Rum 151 proof, and a glass.

"No, I'm fine without it," she answered, rolling her eyes. After mixing the drink, she swiveled around the seat, and looked at the other patrons. Based on appearance alone it was interesting to note that for the most part they all looked pretty well kept. Did it mean anything? Ryuzaki looked like an absolute mess when Belle had met them. Was all of Asgard like that?

Don't think about that now, Belle thought, just have a good time.

"You're a saxophone player?" she asked Midvalley.

After a fair amount of deliberation, Yako decided that she would drop by the bar, if only to make sure the others got home in one piece. Plus, she seriously needed to relax. Between the constant nightmares and her recent late-night freak out, she deserved a little fun. Flauros' comment on her age had instilled a little guilt, but she had known girls at her school who had been drinking since they were in middle school.

It probably said something about the state of her conscience that she was trying to justify this, but Yako couldn't seem to bring herself to care. It wasn't like she was going to chug a bottle of vodka or anything, she told herself, as she entered the building she had seen her teammates heading towards.

After filling his glass with liquor and a couple pieces of ice, Reno found a seat on a stool next to the bar. A brief moment later, his attention was brought back to the door as someone else came in.

"Hey Yako!" He grinned as he saw who it was and raised a hand in a lazy greeting. "Nice to see you decided to join us." To be honest, he really hadn't been expecting her. She hadn't seemed too interested in spending the evening around Flauros, and even if he'd seen her drink before, she hadn't really struck him as the barhopping type.

"Bartender seems to be Midvalley, if you don't want to just grab whatever yourself," he informed her, then took a sip from his glass, deciding this place had good scotch.

Myre had had similar thoughts as Yako. The idea of going out on a social outing with her team - which she considered her Lair - wasn't high on her list of fun things to do. But she'd been giving a great deal of thought to her role in this place, and she supposed she had a duty to at least make sure nothing terribly stupid happened.

She wasn't planning on drinking - she didn't even know what alcohol would do to a dragon, even in human form - but she roused herself from her evening nap to head into Emptiness a little after eight. She had spied Yako leaving, and followed a little ways behind the two legger girl.

Myre slunk into the bar, looking as pleasant and friendly as she always did. At least no one could accuse her of not 'playing well with others' or whatever it was she'd once been told.

By the time Yako had walked through the door, Flauros was on his second glass of rum. He smiled over at the blonde, and lifted up his glass in Yako's general direction. "Glad you could make it! If you want, Midvalley can probably whip you up a virgin strawberry daiquiri!" he chuckled, took a drink, and quickly added, "I'm just joking."

The male demon didn't say much when Myre stepped into the bar, but that may have been because he was taking yet another drink from his glass. "This is some damn fine rum; better than that stuff I was offered back in my home world,"

Midvalley nodded to Belle over a glass of whiskey. "Yeah, I'm a sax player," he said. "Let me know if you want to hear me play some time."

He sipped at the whiskey. "They have some damn fine stuff here," he said. He'd always been impressed with the quality of booze in Niflheim.

"Hey," he said in response to Flauros. "I can whip up anything you need."

"Allen, be nice," Belle snapped at Flauros. Her tone quickly softened when she addressed the young blonde, "Just ignore him, teenagers back in our day were drinking all the time."

She took another drink from her glass, placed it down on a coaster, and drummed her fingers on the dark maple wood that the bar top was made out of. Her attention then focused back on Midvalley, and after some thought she asked, "Play any jazz music? Come on, boy, what's your style?"

She finished up her drink, and motioned again at Midvalley, "Mind being a sweetheart, and getting me a double shot of Yukon Jack?"

While she waited, Belle looked around the bar, but said nothing else.

Reno was honestly a little surprised when Myre did show up.

"Hey, look, our chaperone's here," he commented cheerfully, something in his voice adding a tag of 'yeah, right.' The more the merrier, but he couldn't imagine the point about keeping everyone out of trouble probably wasn't going to come into play. Things didn't seem likely to get too horribly out of hand regardless of her being there or not, and at the very least she wasn't going to stop him from getting completely sloshed. That was the whole point of this exercise, after all.

And he was already making a valiant effort at it, finishing off his glass and waving for Midvalley to bring him more. He shot their impromptu bartender a grin.

"Refill, if ya don't mind. Scotch."

Midvalley cheerfully poured more Scotch for Reno and double shot of Jack for Belle.

"Jazz indeed," he said in answer to her question. "That's my music. You like jazz?"

It would be refreshing to run into another jazz lover here.

Meanwhile, he didn't want to be totally behind everyone in the getting drunk aspect of the evening, so he poured himself a whiskey and soda, heavy on the whiskey. He could hold his liquor pretty well, but after a few he'd at least get talkative.

Zoe began to drop further and further behind Yako, as not to be seen. The younger girl didn’t seem to be moving with any secrecy, and not once had she looked back. Zoe observed her entering a building…of all places….a bar?

Drawing nearer to the structure, Zoe picked up strains of conversation and smelled fresh alcohol. Vaguely in the back of her mind, Zoe remembered a coversation previously about some sort of a party. Intruiged, Zoe slipped quietly in from the back.

The sweet alure of alchohol was heavy, but Zoe knew she wasn’t going to partake. Fae and alcohol did not mix.

Taking in the Niflheimers, Zoe stayed among the shadows near the back before she sat herself in a corner.
She would only observe and get to know those who she would be working with for a while.

As the newcomer snuck into the bar, Reno found himself just a little on edge, up until he recalled having seen her once or twice inside Niflheim. He hadn't actually ever met her, but that fairly solidly identified her as the new girl. A moment after she sat down, he waved a hand to her.

"Zoe, right? No need to be shy." He shot her a grin. What was the point of going to a party if you were going to hide in a corner?

Flauros had also noticed the entrance of the new Niflheimer, and grinned. Wonderful, possibly another under-ager for him to torment. "Hey there, Coconut!" He called out with a mischievious grin. No sooner had he said that, and he was back to slamming down shots of his rum.

Now despite having downed over half the bottle, Flauros wasn't even buzzed; not in the traditional sense at least. He was, however, smiling a lot more than usual.

"Hey, anyone up for a game of darts?" He asked.

Yako gave a small wave and a polite smile to Zoe and Myre, before turning to Midvalley. "Any recommendations?" She eyed Flauros a little warily, somewhat impressed at the speed of his boozing.

"Yeah...count me out of that," She said with a sheepish grin. "Even normally my aim sucks." Yako didn't even want to think about what might happen if alcohol was added into the mix.

Zoe briefly considered her response, a little angry with herself for being seen so easily. She didn’t know the name of the person who greeted her first. In fact, she didn’t know anyone, save Yako and Allen. Zoe smothered a scowl at Allen's robust greeting, and raised an eyebrow at the energy in which he was downing his shots.

Finally Zoe decided to answer the unknown team-mate with a simple nod. After all, a nod wouldn’t offend anyone, or at least, idealy. Usually Zoe wasn’t so careful about who she pissed off, but right now, in “uncharted waters” so to speak, she wasn’t going to take her chances, team-mate or not.

As it were, Zoe remained standing in the back, although she did lower her hood and then figured it wasn't going to do any harm to ask, "Yes, I'm Zoe. And you are?"
