Summary: Strix and Light get some time to sort themselves out in their room, but Strix Just. Can't. Take. THE TICKING.

Strix had followed Light-san into the room after escaping Lucifer's cruel gaze. As she stepped in she finally got a good look around.

"Alcohol!" she squeeled, and went straight to the liquor cabinet.

	Strix eagerly rummaged through the cabinet. She spotted a liter of vodka and snatched it up. She plopped down on her bed and popped it open, glancing at Light. "Well, if you don't mind," she said, standing up. "They really bug the ever living fuck out of me."

Strix took another huge draw of the bottle, and smacking her lips set it aside. It was nearly empty. She proceeded to the window and tossed it fully open. There was no screen. That was good.

She snatched up a clock and hurled it out the window just as far as she could--which was pretty damn far--and seconds later there was an audible and satisfying crashing sound. Strix listened keenly for a moment to see if it was still ticking. Even though the wreckage was far away, it was still within hearing distance for her.

No ticking. Good, she nodded to herself, and went back to the liquor cabinet to rummage around for another bottle.

Strix popped her head up and put a hand on her hip "I'm not human, kiddo. A little bit of spirits isn't going to phase me."

She went back to rummaging and pulled out another liter of vodka with one hand, and grabbed a clock with the other. She approached the window like a pitcher to the mound.

"Fuck you, Lucifer. Fuck your fucking clocks, you rat bastard."

And she tossed it. Then she took another drink.

	"Phhh, holy water my ass! Where'd you get an idea like that?" She grabbed up another clock and smashed it savagely against her bedpost. Then took another drink. 	"Well now you're back, so get the fuck over it." Strix set down the bottle and and swept up a handful of clocks in her arms. Strix shook her head. This was pointless. She left his space and returned to her own side of the room. She picked up the vodka bottle and put it to her lips, only to find it empty. She grunted in displeasure. Time to find another.

She brooded in silence a long while. Quietly nursing some gin, since all the vodka seemed to be gone.

Finally she spoke.

"Can you tell me something? What's one thing that makes you happy? One simple thing? What would make you smile? And I'm not talking about ruling the world killing lots and lots of people, as fun as that is. I'm talking about the cheesy stuff like sunsets and butterflies. You get what I mean?"

He was silent for a long while.
It had been so long since he had even thought about any such thing. So very long since he had been simply Light Yagami. Not Kira. Not a god. Not justice. Just Light.
And he could hardly even remember anything about that life. It was as if Light Yagami died when Kira was born...And had been forgotten throughout all those years...

"..I...Don't rightfully remember." He replied softly, some emotion actually leaking through his voice. ...Regret?

	He tried to remember...but he couldn't find anything...L and how very much he challenged him? But that was related to the Kira case. His dream to be an investigator for the NPA? 	Strix continued to watch Light from the corner of her eye while she pretended to be hunting around for more clocks. She already knew where they all were by the sound, but it was a good pretense. Strix's eyebrow quirked up, and then a grim expression settled on her face.

"Let's get one thing straight here, kiddo. You don't tell me what to do. Ever. If you play nice, I play nice, and I can't say as I really believe in threats, but believe me when I say that you do not want to get on my bad side. I will make that Shinigami friend of yours look like a fucking Care Bear. And since Lucifer seems to only care that your precious "Scored Perfect on All My Exams" brain is intact, I don't think he'll mind to much if I end up gnawing on your face."

"And you know what? I don't feel like cleaning it up anymore. Do it yourself if you're so afraid of cutting up you squishy human feet."

And at that Strix began to stalked towards the door of the room.

	Light watched her silently. If she left, it wouldn't matter if it was clean or not. He could sleep without fearing too much.
