Entry tags:dr. cox, finished thread, rating: pg, setting: room 306 in niflheim, strix

WHO:  Dr. Cox and Strix
WHERE:  The room Dr. Cox was oh so graciously given
WHEN:  A bit after their banter in Cox's post
RATING: PG
WARNINGS:  Cox's colorful language?
SUMMARY: Strix decides its a good time to show Dr. Cox what, exactly, this world has in store for him.

Perry laughed at the screen in front of him.  This was just too good.  He took another sip from his glass of scotch and responded to the comment.

Aww, did I strike a nerve?  Don't feel too bad.  you lasted longer then Ghanidiot and Sally.  He posted it, placed his drink down on the table next to him and leaned back in the chair.  Maybe this place wouldn't be so bad after all.  There were people here he could use to help himself feel better, and the view out the window was quite nice.

"Bigger and badder then anything i've ever seen.  Ha!"

There was a monumentous flapping of wings at Perry Cox's window. In a split second a huge bird like creature flung itself at the glass. The window frame exploded inward and glass splayed forward like shrapnel.

The creature tumbled in through the window and and then stood to it's full six foot height. Large black feathers covered enormous wings that touched the confines of the room. The creature was some sort of smattering between woman and monstrous owl. The body was covered in feathers, like the wings, and a sharp beak perched in the middle of the face under burning coal eyes. The beak clicked fiercely.

"Caaawwwxxx!" the creature screamed, flexing its razor talons. "Eaaaaattt Yuuu!"

Perry ducked as glass shattered inward, and he spun to see what had happened to his window.

Ohshi-

"What the hell are you?!" He shouted, getting up from his chair. He had a deep frown on his face as he refused to show anything but that. It was pretty damn obvious though that Perry was startled. Frightened, even. He backed up against the wall and stared. Did... Did that thing just say his name?!

"Caaawwwxxx!" the creature screamed again. "Striiix Eaaaaat Yuuu!" The creature folded up it's wings and advanced toward him on two legs, clawed hands outstretched.

Holy shit, the beast did say his name! What the hell was going on?!

"No, no you wont." He denied, backing away from the thing. "I thought you guys needed a medic!" What was that name, Strix? Wasn't that...? He paused and said something he probably shouldn't have. "...Pipsqueak?!"

The creature roared. It pined Cox against the wall, and breathed on him with its fettered, raggedy breath.

"I...TOWWLD YUUU....*click* NAWWWT TO *click* CALL ME THAT!"

Cox pulled his head back away from the creature as far as it would go against the wall. "Alright alright! Does Sticks work?" Yes, he was going to be difficult, even when faced with... This.

"Dangit, brush your teeth or something"

The slight uttered did not get past the creature's keen hearing.

"Brawwwsh with maan fleshhhhh," it gurgled. It took one extremely pointed talon and held it beneath Cox's chin, lifting it up uncomfortably. A single bead of blood appeared.

"Sssssay....my....nammm"

"Every heard of toothpaste?" He muttered as his chin was lifted. Dangit, he really didn't want to call her by name. Only Carla had that privilege.

"Fine. Strix! Happy now?" Oh if she rubbed this in later she was going to get an earful.

The creature released Cox. It began to make an odd gurgling sound (sort of like "Caw ke, ke, ke") and clutching at its stomach. It stumbled back and the sounds it was making intensified.

Slowly the monster began to shrink and loose it's dark plumage, almost like it was folding into itself. The rapacious laughter altered in pitch, and began to sound less and less like cawing and gurgling, and more and more like laughter.

When the transformation was done a dark skinned, naked woman stood in front of him, laughing so hard that she was almost crying. She was lean and toned with long dark hair that had been dyed purple at the ends, and she was still clutching her sides.

"Oh man!" she gasped between gales of laughter. "I wish you could have seen your face. That was priceless."

Cox sneered. "Careful there Princess. One day i'm going to be sewing you together." Ok, so he was starting to believe people when they said they weren't exactly human. The people here were a little weirder then at home, but then that just made this whole thing a bit more interesting.

He moved forward to grab his scotch and took a sip before scoffing. "And either put some clothes on or get out, will ya?"

Strix tried to calm herself down enough to speak, but she still couldn't manage to keep the glee from her voice.

"Aw, you're just mad 'cus I got you. Besides, you took the Hippocratic Oath, and all that. I'm not really worried."

She grabbed the scotch from his hand and gulped it down like water. "Whew!" she exclaimed after wiping her mouth. "Transformation's pretty draining. A little kick always helps."

She eyed him lazily. "Isn't a doctor supposed to be right at home with the human body?"

"Well," she said, shrugging as she put down the glass, "If it bothers you then I guess I'll go. I just wanted to prove to you that you might want to be a little more careful with that mouth of yours. There are worse things than me..."

With that she started towards the door, her bare feet brushing the carpet in whispers.

He sneered at her as she moved to the door. "Your body doesn't bother me, you do." Perry grumbled a bit as he looked at his empty glass. That thing was half full when she got her hands on it! His finger reached up to brush his nose real quick as he turned to find the scotch bottle.

"If their breath smells half as bad as yours, then I doubt we're going to lose this tournament."

Strix chortled at this. He never gave up, did he?

She paused as she reached the threshold of the room. Without turning around she said, "I wasn't lying about the fact that I am going to taste your blood. If there is one thing about me you must know, it is that I always keep my word." She smiled to herself ruefully. "Sleep well," she added, and was gone.
