Entry tags:finished thread, ichimaru, kain, setting: deadwood

Who: Kain and Gin
When: Blood of The Innocent day, noon
Where: The Deadwood
Rating: PG-13
Warnings: Violence! And most likely, some mind games. I mean come on guys, it's Kain and Gin.
Summary: Kain meets up with Gin to attempt to kill, or at least seriously injure him. Gin decides to take this opportunity to screw around with the overly brash dragoon.

Kain had chosen the Deadwood for a reason. It wasn't close to Asgard, and it would be much easier to face Gin using the trees as cover, as dead and rotten as they were. He glanced around the bleak scenery, and he found it oddly fitting for the mood he was in. So many dead things.

His lance slipped in his grip, ever so slightly. He had put gauntlets on over his bloody hands, but somehow it had also coated them, as though the blood was determined not to be hidden. Luckily the gauntlets had been designed with gore in mind, and the slickness of the blood didn't effect his ability to grip his weapon too much. He'd still have to be cautious.

The dragoon was doing his very best to ignore the blood, and while he wasn't fully successful, he'd been able to shove most his more negative feelings about it down, instead focusing on his anger at Gin. He had to be lying. And he'd make sure that he never lied again.

Ichimaru wasn't lying. He didn't have to. Not when the truth hurt so much more then a lie ever could.

He was bare handed, his sword was in his robes where it usually was and his usual grin was in place. He purpousfully left his hands in front of him so Kain could see them. They were clasped in front of his loosely, almost screaming "Can't touch this~" mockingly.

He walked into the deadwoods with confidence reeking with every step. Ichimaru didn't intend to even draw his sword. He intended to make the dragoon hurt himself. He intended to break the boy's mind~

"Kaaaaain~"

Immediately, Kain tensed up. He did not like the taunting tone of Gin's voice, and he spun around to face him, raising his lance defensively. He was caught off guard to see that Gin didn't look at all ready for battle. He looked more like he was taking a leisurely stroll in the woods. And that wasn't all. It didn't take long for the dragoon to notice that the Shinigami had been telling the truth--his hands were clean. Kain's scowl evaporated.

"You weren't lying." Kain's words were totally flat and devoid of emotion, and his expression was equally stoic. Not even this man, who seemed to embody everything Kain hated, had woken up with blood on his hands that morning. The thought disgusted him, though he did his best to disguise it.

His fist clenched around his lance, and he shifted slightly, pointing the weapon at Gin. "Raise your weapon." He growled, narrowing his eyes. The fact that Gin was so relaxed about this whole situation, as though he didn't fear Kain at all, made this all worse.
